In this opportunity, you’ll focus on advancing our Balanced Energy Solutions strategy, including partnerships with AI-driven data centers and supporting key policy initiatives. Reporting to the VP of Government Relations, Regulatory &amp; Policy, with a dotted line to the VP of Balanced Energy Solutions, you’ll help shape policy, support advocacy, and ensure stakeholder alignment.You will contribute to our team by: <ul><li>Serving as the subject-matter expert for Balanced Energy Solutions initiatives, including partnerships with data centers.</li><li>Monitoring and analyzing federal, state and market policy developments impacting the ability of IPPs to serve data centers.</li><li>Acting as the point person for the Government Relations &amp; Regulatory team on Data Center initiatives, ensuring alignment across internal stakeholders.</li><li>Developing policy positions, briefing materials, and recommendations for executives and internal teams.</li><li>Supporting advocacy strategies, regulatory filings, and stakeholder engagement.</li><li>Providing research and analysis on energy policy and emerging technology matters.</li><li>Coordinating cross-team efforts to advance policy and regulatory objectives efficiently.</li></ul>What you will bring to the role:   Education: <ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in public policy, political science, energy/environmental studies, or related field.</li></ul>Experience:<ul><li>3–5 years of experience in energy policy, regulatory affairs, or government relations.</li><li>Familiarity with U.S. energy markets and regulatory processes.</li><li>Highly organized, able to manage several projects and internal processes/business partners simultaneously.</li><li>Experience with energy procurement for large-scale data centers or tech companies.</li><li>Knowledge of AI workloads and their energy demands.</li><li>Prior work or demonstrated understanding of public-private partnerships involving energy and digital infrastructure.</li></ul>Technical Skills:<ul><li>Demonstrated project management skills with ability to coordinate multiple priorities.</li><li>Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.</li><li>Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.</li></ul>Working Conditions:<ul><li>Hybrid Office/Work from home position, with possible very minimal travel to meet business users at Capital Power facilities or other offices.</li></ul>Additional Details:This position will remain open until a suitable candidate is found.The pay range for this position is $127,000.00 to $146,000.00.The specific rate will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications and prior relevant experience.This position is eligible for health care benefits, retirement benefits, paid time off, and annual bonus.In order to be considered for this role you must be legally eligible to work in United States of America.The successful candidate for this position will undergo an education verification, reference checks and criminal record check.               Capital Power employees that refer a successful candidate for this position are eligible for a $1000 Referral Reward!We believe that creating a culture that supports employee physical, mental, financial, and social wellbeing is critical to our success.
