Load forecasts are utilized for system optimization, including economic dispatch of generation and power trading.Renewable Energy forecasting involves the estimating renewable generation to include in the unit commitment plan to ensure proper setup for managing the system in a cost effective and reliable manner. The renewable energy forecaster will forecast, track, and evaluate renewable energy resources, enroll new variable energy resources, and analyze weather models, historical data, trends, and external factors impacting the forecast. This role also provides expertise to continually improve renewable resource forecasting through data and modeling enhancements.Major storm / High-Impact Weather support involves 24/7 availability to support emergency preparedness operations during high-impact weather events.
