Job summary: The Contracts Engineer will be responsible for the full contract lifecycle, from tender preparation and vendor selection to post-award administration, variation management, and project closeout. This role requires a strong understanding of contract law, industry standards, and commercial practices to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in full compliance with contractual terms.      Core responsibilities:<ul><li>Pre-contract and tendering</li></ul><ul><li>Prepare tender documentation by reviewing tender drawings, technical specifications, and bills of quantities (BOQ) for accuracy and completeness.</li><li>Assist in vendor pre-qualification and the evaluation of technical and commercial bids from contractors and suppliers.</li><li>Formulate contract award recommendations and to address bidder queries during the tendering phase. </li></ul><ul><li>Post-award contract management</li></ul><ul><li>Lead contract administration, ensuring all parties adhere to the terms, conditions, and technical requirements.</li><li>Issue and manage all contract-related correspondence to clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.</li><li>Review and process progress claims, variation orders, and payment certificates in accordance with contract terms.</li></ul><ul><li>Variation, claim, and risk management</li></ul><ul><li>Draft, review, and negotiate variations and change orders arising from scope changes.</li><li>Prepare and submit claims for extension of time (EOT), delays, and additional costs when contractually entitled.</li><li>Conduct detailed risk analysis at various project stages and develop mitigation strategies.</li></ul><ul><li>Others</li></ul><ul><li>Advanced proficiency in MS Office, including Excel, for reporting and analysis. </li><li>Strong negotiation skills for dealing with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.</li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to manage risks and resolve disputes.</li><li>Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills for documentation and record-keeping.</li><li>High ethical standards and the ability to maintain confidentiality.</li></ul>
