The Civil Engineering Department of AECOM’s Transportation Business Line is actively seeking Entry-Level Civil/Highway Engineers to be based in our Newark, DE office. Under the supervision of a Project Engineer, the appropriately qualified applicant will be part of a design team responsible for designing small to large-scale highway projects such as roadway rehabilitation/safety improvement projects, intersection improvements/optimizations, interstate/limited access highway widening/reconstruction. Design responsibilities include horizontal/vertical geometry, pavement design, 3D modeling, intersections/interchanges design, traffic control/staging, signing and pavement markings design, ADA, Pedestrian and Bicycle design, etc. Current notable projects include Airport Road Extension in Rehoboth Beach, DE; SR1 and Cave Neck Road Grade Separated Interchange in Milton, DE; and SR8 and Chestnut Grove-Nault Road Intersection Improvements in Dover, DE.This position is expected to begin in Spring/Summer 2026.The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:<ul><li>Obtaining and reviewing existing information including some field work/site investigations.</li><li>Originating technical calculations that advance the design of the project.</li><li>Assisting in the development of roadway construction, intersection grading, traffic control, and signing and pavement marking.</li><li>Developing 3D models using civil engineering software such as Bentley OpenRoads Designer or Autodesk Civil 3D.</li><li>Assisting in the preparation of technical reports and project specifications</li><li>Performs work under supervision in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule.</li></ul>
