Impulse-PDM has over 30 years experience in mechanical, electrical, and optical design, as well as considerable expertise in material selection for subsea applications.We are looking for an Engineering Technician to join our Engineering Team who design undersea sensors and cable assemblies and their associated tooling, fixtures and jigs. This role supports the engineers in performing practical aspects of validation trials, prototype builds, testing, maintenance of equipment and production problem solving.Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Prototype builds of test equipment and production jigs and fixtures</li><li>Maintenance and repair of machinery, tools and test equipment</li><li>Solving production technical issues or escalating them to the engineers as required</li><li>Moulding test samples for materials analysis</li><li>Measurement of environmental factors for test analysis (e.g. metalworking fluid)</li><li>Conducting trials for validation of designs including pressure testing</li><li>Maintaining stocks of spare parts and equipment</li><li>Housekeeping of labs and machine shop, disposing of hazardous waste safely</li><li>Driving continuous improvement through 5S and Kaizen initiatives</li><li>Writing test reports</li><li>Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and modifications.</li><li>Collaborate with design and production teams to optimise manufacturing processes.</li><li>Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.</li><li>Provide technical support during product trials and process validations.</li></ul>Qualifications, Experience:<ul><li>HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering or a related field</li><li>Proven practical experience in a manufacturing or engineering technician role</li><li>Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems</li><li>Good IT literacy (MS Office, Teams, etc.)</li><li>Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics</li><li>Good understanding of metrology</li><li>Experience of using machine tools (turning and milling) is an advantage</li><li>Understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies is desirable</li></ul>Behavioural Competencies<ul><li>Practical and logical approach to problem solving</li><li>Clear communication skills, both spoken and written</li><li>Strong organisation skills and time management</li><li>Interested and engaged with new technologies and industry challenges</li><li>Safety mindset</li></ul>Range of benefits include.<ul><li>Salary sacrifice-led pension plan that matches employee contributions up to 7%.</li><li>Free life assurance cover at the value of four times basic annual salary.</li><li>25 days holiday per annum plus 9 public holidays.
