As our HSSE Officer you will be responsible for assisting on the facilitation, development, maintenance and continual improvement of the project health, safety, security, and environment is managed according to Scatec Operating system (HSSE management system) legal and other requirements. Main responsibilities <ul> <li>Support the management to ensure compliance with legal and other requirements</li> <li>Advise management and facilitate the obtaining of relevant permits</li> <li>Support management to monitor and enforce the HSSE Program</li> <li>Support on the implementation of project HSSE objectives and ensure set targets achieved as per requirement </li> <li>Coordinate with and report HSSE activities to the HSSE Manager and Construction Manager </li> <li>Assist in the project HSSE supervision and in the development, implementation, and monitoring of job hazard analysis for subcontractors. </li> <li>Assist on coordination of contractor HSSE personnel and processes (i.e., emergency procedures, LOTO, etc.) </li> <li>Investigate all accidents including near misses and make recommendations to eliminate future occurrences</li> <li>Assist on the establishment of communications systems encouraging worker participation in identifying and correcting HSSE hazards </li> <li>Ensure that the risk assessments are in place for all tasks and updated should the work scope changes</li></ul>Qualifications and competencies <ul> <li>Education: SAMTRAC or equivalent and/or valid qualification on environment, occupational health, and safety</li> <li>Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience in construction HSSE management</li> <li>Language: fluent both in written and spoken English</li> <li>In depth understanding of a HSSE management system</li> <li>Team player, building a positive HSSE culture</li> <li>Basic knowledge of international standards related to HSSE (i.e., ISO 14001, ISO 45001, etc.)</li> <li>Knowledge of IFC’s HSSE guidelines, IFC Performance Standards, and Equator Principles</li> <li>Fluent in English, spoken and written (and other languages if needed or ideal)</li></ul>Personal characteristicsIt is part of every employees’ terms of reference to contribute to Scatec's vision: Improving our Future and adhere to our company values which are:<ul> <li>Predictable: demonstrate clear communication and listening skills, shares information in an open and honest way</li> <li>Driving results: demonstrate determination, pro-activeness, can prioritise and work independently</li> <li>Changemaker: demonstrate entrepreneurship, can challenge, fast learner, take initiates and adjust</li> <li>Working together: demonstrate teamwork, shares responsibilities, can compromise, has a can-do attitude</li></ul> We offerScatec is an exciting, innovative and ambitious company operating in a growing industry.
