The Restricted Fund Accountant will work with the Grants Manager to monitor and report financial activity for Federal and Foundational awards. Responsibilities include setting up project information in GMRI’s financial system, expense monitoring, invoicing, award closeout and preparing indirect and fringe cost allocations.  The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, have a baseline understanding of accounting principles and the Uniform Guidance regulations, and a familiarity with Federal rules and financial systems. The Restricted Fund Accountant will interact with all departments including the Sponsored Projects Office (SPO), members of the Finance &amp; Administrative and Development teams, and GMRI Program personnel.  Responsibilities/Tasks: Financial Management and Oversight: <ul><li>Assist with monitoring and oversight for all Federal and Foundational awards, in collaboration with the Grants Manager, SPO, Program Managers and the Development team. </li><li>Review and approve program expenses for compliance with Uniform Guidance and awarding agency requirements, as well as GMRI accounting policies</li><li>Generate and submit monthly invoices to Federal and Foundational funding agencies. </li><li>Collaborate with SPO to monitor award extensions, re-budgets, and other modifications as required in GMRI’s financial system. </li><li>Remain current on federal cost guidelines and funding agency award requirements while developing an ever-deepening knowledge of GMRI’s sponsored funding accounting processes and compliance responsibilities</li><li>Enter and maintain project information in fringe and indirect allocation worksheets. Prepare the monthly allocation entries. </li><li>Assist in the preparation of Federal grant reports, such as the SF-425 reports, as required by funding sources</li><li>Assist with subrecipient monitoring duties.</li><li>Assist with audit preparations and the SEFA report.</li><li>Collaborate with Grants Manager to update and maintain GMRI Grants Manual </li><li>Track financial reporting milestones and deliverables </li></ul>Requirements  Qualifications: GMRI seeks a candidate with demonstrated fund accounting experience, ideally with exposure to federal and/or private grants.
