The Assistant Storekeeper is expected to achieve effective performance and control of the receiving, shipping, storing transferring, cycle counting, and issuing of parts and materials.The Assistant Storekeeper must demonstrate the ability to progress to the storekeeper position. This person must progress in a measured manner in meeting the qualification requirements as outlined in the Stores Development Manual.  <h2>Responsibilities</h2><ul><li>Issue material to user departments.</li><li>Identify and return material from user departments and ensure that the material meets the original or useable condition.</li><li>Pick up and deliver material as directed.</li><li>Maintain good housekeeping practices.</li><li>Comply with storeroom Safety and Security Policies.</li><li>Respond during emergencies such as violent weather, chemical spills, oil spills, call-outs, etc.</li><li>Participate, as required, in taking cycle counts.</li><li>Assist in keeping control of all material in the storeroom.</li><li>Reclassify and adjust material into the storeroom.</li><li>Transfer material between storerooms using MTTs and ITLs.</li><li>Properly package material for shipping and storing.</li><li>Locate material properly by using assigned locations or by making new locations using the Bin Locator.</li><li>Dispose of material that is damaged, surplus, or has exceeded it's shelf life.</li><li>Issue stock and non-stock material using first-in/first-out method to ensure items are not issued with expired shelf life.</li><li>Initiate material claim procedures.</li><li>Inspect and ensure incoming materials are correct by meeting the material and shipping specifications as indicated by the purchase order.</li><li>Write material problem vendor reports.</li><li>Receive material via POs, MTrs, ITIs, etc.</li><li>Perform the duties of a higher classification, when qualified or needed.</li><li>Operate storeroom equipment in a safe and efficient manner; report any malfunctions of equipment.</li><li>Prepare Stores documents accurately.</li><li>Disassemble and repair reusable material.</li><li>Load and unload trucks in a safe and efficient manner.</li><li>Stock roto bins, shelves, and other locations as required.</li><li>Deliver and return material for maintenance satellite storerooms.</li><li>Understand storage levels and maintain strict compliance for storing material within these levels at the Nuclear Storeroom.</li><li>Assist with the revamping of bins, shelves, and racks, as needed, to keep material in an organized manner.</li><li>Perform other similar or less skilled work.</li><li>Weigh, record and process scrap information for invoicing.</li><li>Initialized non-stock material into inventory.</li></ul>Demonstrate Abilities:Through a combination of oral, walk-through and/or written testing, demonstrate knowledge of work area.
