Our trucks are designed to perform under the toughest conditions.The Service Technician will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and operating special systems on Pierce/ Oshkosh Airport ARFF Volterra, electric fire apparatus.  The Service Technician will provide onsite service to our customers and dealers to service the Volterra product.  The Service Technician is responsible for communicating with cross functional teams and customers.This position is eligible for a $2.00 Technical Pay Premium. This pay premium will be applied to all regular hours worked, and it will be included in the calculation of any applicable overtime pay in accordance with company policy and labor laws. It will appear as a separate line item on your paycheck. If you move out of a role eligible for the Technical Pay Premium, the premium will be discontinued.YOUR IMPACT:The Service Technician is required to have mechanical, plumbing, and pneumatic system experience and ability to read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics and layouts.  This role will be responsible for:<ul><li>Support, troubleshoot, and assemble/disassemble new products within Pierce and Oshkosh Airport Products, including electrification. </li><li>Provide design and process feedback to cross functional teams, during project to maximize product design and manufacturing processes.</li><li>Provide technical data to cross functional teams the comprehend data to trouble shoot solutions.</li><li>Provide training and demonstration to internal and external customers during new product deliveries.</li><li>Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair products to meet company and customer standards.</li><li>Conduct testing of prototypes and current products to determine capabilities of vehicle/systems and conformance to specifications and/or regulations.</li><li>Provide detailed reports and analysis to engineering and other functions to ensure top performance of the product.</li><li>Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, adhering to all safety procedures during all aspects of job performance which includes regular exposure to personal and physical hazards.</li></ul>       MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:<ul><li>Five or more years of mechanical experience in automotive or machinery applications (Heavy trucks, farm equipment, auto maintenance, etc.)</li><li>Previous experience working on fire apparatus</li><li>Ability to travel 30% domestically</li></ul>STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS:<ul><li>High school diploma or GED</li><li>Previous experience with basic hand tools</li><li>Previous experience working with Pierce electrical systems</li><li>Electrical system programming knowledge</li><li>Previous experience with Microsoft Office programs</li><li>Hydraulic system knowledge</li><li>Plumbing knowledge</li><li>Experience working with vendors for strong product support.</li></ul>Oshkosh is committed to working with and offering reasonable accommodations to job applicants with disabilities.
