This role is hands-on and central to bringing our automation systems to life. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced startup environment. Beyond technical execution, this person will help develop documentation, mentor technicians, and ensure our build quality meets industry standards.Responsibilities include:<ul><li>Build, wire, and integrate industrial control panels according to schematics and layouts.</li><li>Perform panel layout, drilling, mounting, and enclosure modifications.</li><li>Execute wiring pulls, conduit routing, labeling, and cable management.</li><li>Integrate PLC, HMI, VFD, relays, power supplies, and instrumentation into panels.</li><li>Perform continuity testing, power-up checks, and troubleshooting during builds.</li><li>Support installation and field integration of control systems.</li><li>Create and maintain SOPs, wiring standards, and build documentation.</li><li>Train and mentor other technicians on panel assembly and wiring best practices.</li><li>Support commissioning, startup, and maintenance activities as needed.</li><li>Ensure compliance with safety standards (UL508A, NFPA 70E, OSHA).</li></ul>What we need you to bring to the team:   <ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent</li><li>8+ years of experience in control panel assembly, wiring, and integration.</li><li>Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, and layouts.</li><li>Proven skills in cable terminations, labeling, and structured wiring practices.</li><li>Mechanical aptitude for drilling, cutting, mounting, and modifying enclosures.</li><li>Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and test equipment (multimeters, logic analyzers).</li><li>Ability to troubleshoot wiring and integration issues independently.</li><li>Solid knowledge of industrial safety practices (Lockout/Tagout, PPE, electrical safety).</li><li>Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in craftsmanship.</li><li>Ability to prioritize multiple projects and work independently or in cross-functional teams.</li><li>Commitment to documenting work clearly and accurately.</li></ul><div><div>What we want you to bring to the team:   <ul><li>Associate’s degree or technical certification in Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation,</li><li>or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience).</li><li>Experience with PLC/HMI hardware integration (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or similar).</li><li>Familiarity with UL508A design principles and panel design software (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN,</li><li>SolidWorks Electrical).</li><li>Exposure to industrial networking protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profinet).</li><li>Knowledge of motor controls, VFDs, instrumentation, and I/O wiring for process control.</li><li>Hands-on experience in pilot plant or R&amp;D-scale process environments.</li><li>Familiarity with SCADA/ignition systems and tag mapping is a plus.</li><li>Ability to standardize panel build processes and drive continuous improvement.</li><li>Prior experience training or mentoring junior technicians.</li><li>Startup mindset: flexibility, problem-solving under time pressure, and willingness to wear multiple hats</li></ul>  Compensation:   <ul><li>The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $33-$38 per hour and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education.  </li></ul>  If you need an accommodation during the application or interview process, reach out to us at <a href="mailto:careers@electra.com">careers@electra.earth</a>—we’re here to help.</div></div>
