The target range for this position is $30.00 to $37.50 per hour. We generally base our salary decisions on factors such as internal equity, candidate work and/leadership experience, educational credentials, and in some cases, candidate work location. Scope of Job: This level is intended to perform as an assistant to a Drivetrain Specialist. The Advanced Drivetrain Technician, under specific direction from the Drivetrain Specialist, provides Major Component Repair (“MCR”) services at renewable energy projects, including but not limited to inspections, preventative maintenance, and corrective repairs, as needed. The Advanced Drivetrain Technician will be expected to travel for extended periods of time working on EDFps projects as needed.  This is a limited term position with a 90-day term. The intention is to convert to a permanent position after 90 days with good performance.<h2>Responsibilities</h2>Assist with MCR specialized services <ul> <li>Assist Drivetrain Specialist with crane calling and rigging procedures &amp; qualifications. </li> <li>Work independently from time to time while performing all aspects of large correctives repairs and removal and replacement of major components. </li> <li>Oversee the safe operation of EDFps and contractor employees during the removal &amp; replacement (“R&amp;R”) of major components, and large corrective in-situ repairs of renewable energy assets. </li> <li> Assist with projects requiring special skills, by acquiring and maintaining skills in certain areas: <ul> <li>R&amp;R of major components.</li> <li>In-situ repair of major components.</li> <li>Development of tooling and fixtures to perform large correctives repairs. </li> </ul></li> <li>Travel to other sites to support MCR work as needed. </li> <li> Assist with Developing, writing, and training work procedures and control instructions for heavy lift operations with the assistance of Technical Writer. </li></ul>Process Standardization &amp; Continuous Improvement<ul> <li>Assist Drivetrain Specialist with quality control during the removal &amp; replacement (R&amp;R) of major components and large corrective in-situ repairs.</li> <li>Provide high quality workmanship with the goal of increasing safety, performance, and efficiency. </li></ul>Other duties as assigned Working Conditions: 80% of the time is in the field with the other 15% doing scheduled training, paperwork, and meetings. An undefined amount of the field work will be performed at EDFps contracted locations which will require travel. Traveling work rotations are generally 5 weeks followed by one week at home. This position must be capable of working independently but generally works with other MCR technicians. This role will be provided a company vehicle for official company use only (service truck) during their assigned shift in which they carry the required tools to perform repairs and/or maintenance. This position may work in extreme weather conditions and abnormal working hours, including nights from time to time. Fiscal Responsibilities: The employee must work within the budget constraints as authorized by the Executive Team, while successfully following all policies and procedures related to employees’ fiscal responsibilities in doing the day-to-day job.<h2>Qualifications</h2>Education/Experience:<ul> <li>Advanced Wind Technician experience or minimum 1 year wind energy/ industrial maintenance experience</li> <li>High school diploma or equivalent</li> <li>Successful completion of applicable safety and technical training program for Advanced Wind Technician</li></ul>Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:<ul> <li>Ability to comply with EDFps’ Safety &amp; Quality policies</li> <li>Basic functional knowledge of MS Word and PowerPoint</li> <li>Ability to read and comprehend schematic drawings</li> <li>Comfort working at heights and climbing towers</li> <li>Ability to provide hands-on training to other technicians</li> <li>Ability to work in extreme weather conditions</li> <li>Mechanical, electrical, and controls aptitude</li> <li>Valid driver's license and clean driving record for operating company vehicles on site and public roads.</li></ul>Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is required to stand, walk, and use his/her hands. The position will require travel, so the employee in this position must be able to successfully accommodate air and ground travel.
