AECOM’s West Region is actively seeking a highly motivated Project Geotechnical Engineer to join the Los Angeles, California Geo-Civil team. The candidate will support various type of geotechnical-related projects from the planning stage to the construction phase. The role will also support project management and business development for our local team.Duties include but are not limited to:<ul><li>Direct field exploration program development that will include soil and rock borings, test pits, CPT soundings, geophysical testing and geotechnical instrumentation.</li><li>Supervise geotechnical design and construction, including inspection of the construction of geotechnical features like retaining walls, ground improvement, foundations, dams, levees, slopes and tunnels.</li><li>Oversee geotechnical design parameter development and geotechnical engineering-related design such as shallow and deep foundations, earth retaining structures, ground improvement, transportation infrastructures, embankments and cut and fill slopes, and tunnels.</li><li>Use computer programs including GeoStudio Suite, LPILE, GROUP, SHAFT, APILE, Plaxis, Settle3, and DeepSoil for geotechnical analyses.</li><li>Prepare and review Geotechnical work plans, Geotechnical Reports, geotechnical engineering related submittals, etc.</li><li>Review design plans and specifications and for compliance with geotechnical recommendations and communicate with multiple disciplines and provide design improvement recommendations.</li><li>Review and respond to construction submittals and RFIs.</li><li>Mentor and train junior geotechnical engineers.</li><li>Meet with clients and participate in proposals.</li><li>Project management – tracking scope, schedule and budget.</li></ul>
