The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the design, installation, and supervision of mechanical works for dam and hydropower projects, particularly large-scale projects.<ul><li>Construction supervision of Mechanical Works of 800MW hydropower project.</li><li>Review of contractor equipment, site fabrication &amp; erection method statement. Procurement &amp; installation program for the hydro-mechanical plant &amp; equipment.</li><li>Checking of installation and commissioning of hydro-mechanical plant of the power station (Turbine, Governors, and Auxiliaries etc.</li><li>Process Taking Over and Final Acceptance Certificates</li><li>Checking plant efficiency recording and performance data</li><li>Review of O&amp;M Manuals</li><li>Review of ‘As-Built’ drawings</li><li>Monitoring Construction Progress, comparison with work schedule and suggesting any measures if necessary for improvements; and</li><li>Contribution to Project Completion Report</li></ul>With a track record of achievement in a related role, you will have gained your experience in a consultancy environment and have a passion for building trusted relationships to drive positive change and win new work.Suitable applicants will have/be:<ul><li>Graduate in Mechanical Engineering from an internationally recognized institution;</li><li>additional qualification in mechanical engineering and/or in engineering management  will be considered an added advantage.</li></ul><ul><li>At least 15 years of professional experience in mechanical engineering,</li><li>A minimum of 10 years in related activities on large dam and hydropower projects,</li><li>At least 5 years’ experience as a Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer role on similar assignments.</li><li>Proven experience in site supervision and mechanical erection works.</li><li>Strong understanding of hydro-mechanical systems including turbines, gates, and auxiliaries.</li><li>Experience in reviewing mechanical designs and construction methodologies.</li><li>Familiarity with quality assurance and safety protocols on large infrastructure projects.</li><li>Ability to coordinate with contractors and multidisciplinary teams.</li><li>Excellent communication skills (English).</li></ul>SMEC is an equal opportunity employer.
