POSITION SUMMARY Financial Analyst - Taxation and AP Bengaluru Tech Center, India General responsibilities of this position include being part of Finance team in Bengaluru, India responsible for Engineering taxation reporting, including both direct (Income tax) and indirect (GST, STPI) adhering to BorgWarner Controls and process. The position reports to the Manager – Finance and Accounts, PDS Technical Center, India and will be located at Bengaluru.Key Accountabilities:<ul><li>Ensuring full compliance with indirect tax &amp; direct tax laws and foreign trade policies and optimization of tax rates for entity</li><li>Cash management through liquidation of tax credits / incentives; Forward planning.</li><li>Monitoring the Invoices generation with IRN &amp; QR Codes.</li><li>100% Taxation compliance for indirect taxes / foreign trade policy.</li><li>Prepare reporting requirements for monthly filing to the tax authorities.</li><li>Taxation projects to facilitate business expansion, new initiatives.</li><li>Educate and train finance, commercial and business teams on taxation compliance.</li><li>Support GSM on imports of Bonding items.</li><li>Liaison with tax authorities in resolving outstanding notices, issues and ensuring minimum exposure of the organization with regards to corporate taxation</li><li>Ensuring tax audit as required by Indian Income Tax Law, reviewing of corporate tax return, and supporting in Income Tax departmental assessment on timely basis</li><li>Preparation of corporate tax reporting schedules per BorgWarner Corporate tax requirements.</li><li>Responsible to all withholding tax related issues on intra group transactions and guide the business well in advance on the WHT impact. </li><li>Supporting the financial audits for the legal entity.</li><li>Any other Special Assignments – Responsible for completion of special assignments as required.</li><li>Adhere to business controls to ensure BW policies and financial goals are met and continually monitor the same.</li><li>Proper accounting of Invoices, Prepaid and T&amp;E claims to ensure accurate cost center reporting for Engineering R &amp; D reporting and for other functional disciplines as required.</li><li>Verify and post details of business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed, and totals accounts to ledgers and databases</li><li>Process journal entries and reconcile vendor accounts in comparison to general ledger</li><li>Review and balance internal accounts, analyze variances with financial software</li><li>Match, batch, and coding vendor invoices</li><li>Participate in month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliation of accounts, tax computations, and other accounting duties in a timely manner</li><li>Support the team for legal entity related financial statements and filings.</li><li>Support Indian regulatory compliance, including all statutory requirements viz., GST, Customs, taxes, etc.</li></ul>Qualifications and Requirements:Education/Experience<ul><li>Master’s Degree in accounting or finance</li><li>CA / CWA / CS - Intermediate /MBA a plus</li><li>Experience in handling Tax Officers</li><li>Good communication &amp; Presentation skills</li><li>Good Knowledge in working in SAP</li><li>Natural Proficiency with Math</li><li>Knowledge of basic financial, tax, and accounting principles</li><li>Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail</li><li>Demonstrated experience with Indian regulatory requirements</li><li>Working in an Engineering industry will be an added advantage.</li><li>Experience with Onestream is a plus</li></ul>Competencies:Action Oriented: Demonstrates high energy and enthusiasm for challenging tasks.Process Management: Designs and optimizes workflows for efficiency; organizes people and tasks strategically; identifies metrics, simplifies complexity, and maximizes resource utilizationFunctional/Technical Skills: Applies deep functional knowledge and technical expertise to deliver high-quality results consistentlyInternal Use Only: SalaryGlobal Terms of Use and Privacy Statement Carefully read the BorgWarner Privacy Policy before using this website.
