We have an exciting opportunity in St Albans, UK for a Graduate Civil Engineer to join our Highways, Active Travel and Infrastructure team.AECOM is an internationally recognised leader in highway consultancy, providing clients with services including planning, design, project management and asset support. There are many exciting opportunities for graduates to join our UK and Ireland teams, supporting projects across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.The Highways team delivers a wide range of projects for funding agencies, national and local governments, highways authorities and private organisations. Our graduates gain exposure to projects from concept through to construction and operation, taking on roles in design, project management, stakeholder engagement, business innovation, and technical/site assurance.You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, gaining hands-on experience with industry-leading tools and contributing to projects at all stages — from early feasibility studies through to detailed design, construction support and contract administration.What we’re looking for We are seeking ambitious, hardworking and enthusiastic Civil Engineering graduates with strong computational, mathematical and design skills. Successful applicants will use industry-leading software and BIM tools while gaining exposure to key areas such as:<ul><li>Transportation economics and planning</li><li>Feasibility and corridor studies</li><li>Environmental assessments</li><li>Highway and streetscape design</li><li>Traffic management planning</li><li>Pavement and drainage design</li><li>Utility relocation</li><li>Vulnerability and security systems</li><li>Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)</li></ul>Our graduates will also have the opportunity to work across both Traffic Engineering and Highways projects, ensuring broad technical training and varied career development.
