You’ll own the end-to-end management of Mechanical &amp; Process Systems Engineering across our portfolio, including major projects worth over €1 billion.About the role:<ul><li>Lead Mechanical &amp; Process Systems engineering for Bord Gáis Energy’s Ireland and UK assets.</li><li>Collaborate with Asset Development teams to shape and deliver Centrica’s multi-billion euro investment portfolio.</li><li>Manage key stakeholders—contractors, regulators, TSO/DSO, and more—ensuring projects meet technical, safety, and quality standards.</li><li>Oversee contracts, technical design, construction, commissioning, and optimisation of thermal generation, solar, turbine, and battery energy storage systems (BESS).</li><li>Provide expert technical guidance and governance from design through to commissioning and handover.</li><li>Conduct technical due diligence on new investment opportunities.</li><li>Challenge designs to secure optimal, cost-effective solutions and coordinate between EPC contractors, OEMs, and other stakeholders.</li></ul>Here's what we're looking for:<ul><li>A seasoned engineer with vast experience in mechanical/process systems within capital asset projects, ideally in power, energy, or process plants.</li><li>Expert in mechanical/process design, construction, commissioning, and operation, with detailed knowledge of thermal generation equipment (gas turbines, engines, auxiliary systems).</li><li>Familiar with key engineering codes and standards (IEC, API, ASME, PED).</li><li>Skilled in managing complex projects and hazardous environments involving high-pressure hydrocarbons and high voltage systems.</li><li>Strong communicator and influencer, experienced in stakeholder management across EPC, regulatory, and government bodies.</li><li>Knowledgeable in contract types (FIDIC, NEC), project management, risk analysis, and project controls.</li><li>Confident in leading teams and meetings in a matrix organisation, delivering clear, data-driven insights.</li></ul>Why should you apply?       We’re not a perfect place – but we’re a people place.
