<h1>About the role</h1><p>Muon seeks an experienced Environmental Test Engineer with a strong affinity toward multidisciplinary testing, test development, and problem solving. This role will work hand-in-hand with multidisciplinary engineers while supporting satellite hardware testing throughout the design and build processes. The ideal candidate is highly skilled with mechanical trades, hands-on, flexible, a quick learner, works well in a fast-paced environment, and is highly self-motivated.</p><h2>Responsibilities</h2><ul><li>Lead the establishment of the in-house environmental test capabilities at Muon Space </li><li>Commission, evaluate, monitor, and maintain space simulation test equipment (Thermal, Thermal Vacuum, Vibration, EMI/EMC)</li><li>Assemble, commission and troubleshoot supporting equipment and test racks to increase test lab capability and unit test quality</li><li>Assist engineering and AI&amp;T teams in preparing for and executing structural test for a variety of large- and small-scale structural and mechanical satellite components</li><li>Instrument and test satellite flight hardware throughout development, production, and on-orbit correlation testing phases</li><li>Work with engineering and facilities engineering to plan for, build out, and commission test equipment (mechanical assemblies, gas, cooling water, cryogenic fluid systems, etc.)</li><li>Willingness to roll up sleeves and install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair instrumentation and harnessing (e.g. pressure transducers, flowmeters, temperature sensors, accelerometers and strain gauges)</li><li>Support rapid test turnarounds, hardware logistics, and reconfiguration efforts in a startup-paced production environment.</li></ul><h2>Qualifications<em>  </em></h2><ul><li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience</li><li>5+ years experience conducting structural vibration/shock tests on spacecraft, aircraft, or similar high reliability systems</li><li>3+ years of hands on experience with mechanical/structural/fluid/electrical systems</li><li>Familiarity with test standards (e.g., GEVS, MIL-STD, NASA-STD) and interpreting engineering drawings or test requirements.</li><li>Experience with thermal vacuum and vacuum test equipment</li><li>Experience in research and development or other fast-paced technical environment</li><li>Ability to solve complex problems with minimal supervision on tight schedules</li><li>Experience with rigging, cranes, and lift operations</li><li>Strong computer skills, including experience with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office and the ability to navigate and manipulate files</li></ul><h2>Nice-to-have Skills</h2><ul><li>Experience with evaluation and testing of propulsion, thermal, electrical or structural systems</li><li>Experience using oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies, and soldering equipment</li><li>Ability to fabricate and repair cable harnesses including: soldering, crimping, assembling connectors</li><li>Knowledge/experience with cryogenic systems</li><li>Knowledge of various fittings (NPT, MS, AN, Swagelok, medium pressure)</li></ul><h2><strong>Salary</strong></h2><p>The salary range for this role is $164K - $177K <strong>plus a competitive equity grant and comprehensive benefits package.</strong> Final compensation will be based on skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location as assessed during the interview process</p><h1><br><br><br><br><br></h1><div><h1><span style="font-size:14pt;">About Muon Space</span></h1><p><span style="font-size:12pt;">Founded in 2021, Muon Space is an end-to-end Space Systems Provider that designs, builds, and operates LEO satellite constellations delivering mission-critical data.
