This role oversees a multi-shift team of field-based staff, ensuring performance targets, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently met.Acting as a vital link between the field team, depot leadership, and senior management, the On-Street Lead translates strategic goals into daily actions while providing valuable operational insights to drive decision-making. Key Responsibilities: Operational Leadership <ul><li>Lead and line-manage on-street staff across all shift patterns </li><li>Plan and schedule team rotas to maximise operational coverage and performance </li><li>Support the delivery of daily and weekly operational plans in line with scheme targets </li><li>Carry out regular on-street work to maintain performance visibility and credibility with the team </li><li>Monitor, manage, and report on individual and team KPIs to drive consistent improvement </li><li>Ensure full compliance with housekeeping, safety, and quality standards </li></ul> Health &amp; Safety <ul><li>Ensure all team members have safe, functional equipment and vehicles. </li><li>Oversee implementation of safety procedures and compliance checklists. </li><li>Maintain accurate records of accidents and near-miss incidents. </li><li>Ensure First Aid certifications are up to date and protocols are understood. </li><li>Conduct and document regular standards checks per Beryl’s performance criteria. </li><li>Lead scheduled Toolbox Talks to reinforce safety culture and address key issues. </li></ul>Fleet Management <ul><li>Oversee the servicing, repairs, and safe use of all vehicles used in on-street operations </li><li>Maintain a fleet maintenance log for all scheme vehicles </li><li>Assign and support a designated Fleet Contact within the scheme </li><li>Manage EV charging schedules to maximise uptime and operational efficiency </li></ul>Staff Development &amp; Mentoring <ul><li>Mentor staff through coaching and on-the-job training to support career growth. </li><li>Maintain accurate and updated training records (Training Passports). </li><li>Promote leadership development and recognise high-performing staff. </li></ul>6-Month Probationary Reviews <ul><li>Evaluate new hires on performance, communication, and cultural fit. </li><li>Gather feedback from peers and supervisors. </li><li>Make informed decisions on confirmation, extension, or termination. </li><li>Align expectations and provide tailored development support. </li></ul>Annual Management Feedback <ul><li>Participate in annual leadership reviews using self, peer, and upward feedback. </li><li>Evaluate communication, team development, and results-driven leadership. </li><li>Identify strengths, gaps, and future growth opportunities. </li><li>Promote accountability and alignment with organisational goals. </li></ul>Communication &amp; Collaboration <ul><li>Collaborate with depot leads and contract managers on performance objectives. </li><li>Maintain regular, clear communication with field staff and leadership. </li><li>Participate in scheme-wide check-ins and planning sessions. </li><li>Implement new processes and proactively identify operational improvements. </li><li>Handle escalated issues from Customer Relations, Central Operations, or field teams. </li><li>Support wider scheme needs and respond to reasonable operational requests. </li><li>Report issues with tech, systems, or assets via ServiceNow. </li></ul> Core Skills &amp; Attributes: <ul><li>Strong leadership and team management capabilities. </li><li>Excellent organisational and rota planning skills. </li><li>Confident decision-maker under pressure. </li><li>Effective communicator across all levels of the organisation. </li><li>Proactive problem-solver with a hands-on mindset. </li><li>Deep commitment to health &amp; safety and staff development. </li><li>Passionate about upholding and raising operational standards. </li><li>Leads by example – setting the tone for teamwork, accountability, and operational pride. </li><li>Focused on continuous improvement and delivering operational excellence.</li></ul> DiversityAt Beryl, we are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
