Our department is responsible for the preparation and development of engineering solutions that include risk reduction, equipment obsolescence, and plant modernization. Employees at this level solve problems in engineering areas of specialization with close supervision. Selected candidate is expected to develop new and existing skills and to work with greater independence as time progresses. They have knowledge of fundamental engineering concepts and theories and exhibit sound technical judgment. They will develop engineering specific solutions in support of design change packages for power plant equipment upgrade and design projects, including but not limited to, designing and evaluating component mounting, pipe supports, whip restraints, seismic ruggedness, heat exchanger and pump foundations, reinforced concrete analysis, and other civil/structural related issues. Individual will prepare Engineering Change (EC) packages, calculations, specifications, procedures, and other technical documents. Will also perform independent reviews of engineering products prepared by their peers. Individual will be required to obtain qualifications as a Modification Engineer, Calculation Preparer, and Design Verifier prior to working independently. Selected candidate will act as the lead technical stakeholder and/or responsible engineer for various assigned projects as a member of a larger project team.   Responsibilities <ul><li>Provide engineering/technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis, and resolution of routine problems in area of expertise. </li><li>Prepare thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and sketches to resolve technical problems. </li><li>Assist in the accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, and monitoring work activities under the guidance of higher-level employees. </li><li>Demonstrate knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures. </li><li>Develop positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities. Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
