We have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee / Apprentice Project Manager to work within our Project Management Consultancy Team. Our project management consultancy service extends to all sectors of the construction industry in the Anglian/Central London regions, so you could be working on projects as diverse as a new hospital development, a new 400 seat theatre building, a sports/swimming centre, a regional airport, a University of Cambridge Research facility, alongside flood protection civil engineering works.Predominantly you will be working within the Cambridge office environment, however you will have the opportunity to see working construction sites. You will work under the close supervision of senior colleagues and the nature of the work can be fast paced to meet the client and project deadlines. The role requires sound logic, analytical and excellent communication skills.The Project Management Apprenticeship will start in September 2024. Preparing project Cashflows. </li></ul>Design <ul><li>Preparing and maintaining a master programme from inception to completion.</li><li>Managing the design team and all other consultants. </li><li>Convene design meetings with the Client and the design team. Chair and minute the meeting.</li><li>Overseeing the design programme and monitor production of information by the design team. </li><li>Reviewing the cost plans prepared by the Cost Consultant. </li><li>Report on progress to the Client regularly. </li><li>Arranging for the preparation of investigations or other surveys required for design development, including tendering and appointing.</li><li>Checking that applications for statutory approvals are submitted in accordance with the master programme.</li><li>Monitoring and reporting on progress of the Consultants and Contractor against the master programme.</li><li>Assisting with the submission of planning applications and with the co-ordination of negotiations with planning authorities. </li><li>Prepare a project risk register and manage risks on the project. </li></ul>Procurement:<ul><li>Preparing the project procurement strategy with the Client, establishing any Client procedures for the selection and method of appointment of the Contractor. </li><li>Manage the preparation of the Tender documents, including, monitor the Consultants in the preparation and assembly of the Employer’s Requirements. </li><li>Prepare a list of tenderers, sending out tender documents, conducting interviews, preparing tender analysis and tender report. </li></ul>Construction <ul><li>Co-ordinate, chair and minuting construction progress meeting, including monitoring consultant meetings</li><li>Acting in the role of the Employers Agent or Contract Administrator under the Contract. </li><li>Manage the change control process</li><li>Manage the risk management process</li><li>Co-ordinate and manage inspections by the consultants of the design and construction of the works.</li><li>Monitoring construction progress </li><li>Reporting to the Client on a regular basis.</li></ul>Handover, commissioning and building management maintenance:<ul><li>Monitor the preparation, submission and acceptance of the CDM health and safety file, as built drawings, operating and maintenance manuals, maintenance agreements and guarantees.</li><li>Coordinate the handover of the project, and on the logistics of taking possession of the project.</li></ul>Completion<ul><li>Oversee and confirm the agreement of final accounts with the Consultant Team and Contractors.</li><li>Establish suitable procedures for the notification and rectification of defects during the defect liability period and for the final inspection of the project at the end of that period.</li></ul>
