The preferred location for this position is in Vaasa, Finland but also other Wärtsilä locations (Helsinki, Turku) in Finland are negotiable. We offer a possibility to hybrid remote work.  Your role and responsibilities:     As a Supplier Development Engineer your work will include: <ul><li>Actively support new product introduction and lead proactive quality assurance activities for castings, machined castings and related assemblies </li><li>Analyse supplier performance and capabilities, identify development opportunities and drive impactful development actions</li><li>Develop and execute supplier development action plans to improve supplier performance </li><li>Support suppliers with their operational development initiatives in relation to cost, quality and delivery</li><li>Execute supplier audits and audit follow-up according to supplier development action plan and verify impact</li></ul> The tasks can also be adjusted based on your individual skills and interests. You’ll be working as a part of impactful Supplier Development team and casting category team with diverse expertise.   Requirements for the position:  <ul><li>Previous experience of casting and machining processes and quality management</li><li>Strong personal drive for identifying development potential and taking lead on initiatives</li><li>Performance-focused mindset and capability to make an impact</li><li>A systematic way of working and excellent problem-solving skills</li><li>Good teamworking, leadership and communication skills</li><li>Capability to apply lean principles and statistical process control in daily work for driving improvement</li></ul>  Qualifications/to be able to succeed in the position we expect you to have:   <ul><li>M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Engineering or Economics and Business Administration, or qualified equivalent</li><li>Fluency in English, both verbal and written</li><li>Willingness to travel</li><li>Experience of Production Part Approval Process / Experience in quality management for example in manufacturing processes</li><li>Previous auditing experience or lead auditor qualification (e.g ISO 9001) is seen as an advantage</li><li style="font-family:arial , helvetica , sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt;">Experience in SAP is seen as a benefit</li></ul>   Why you and us?       You are valued – as your true self.
