The successful candidate will be responsible for coordination and tracking of all projects located at our 4-building campus in San Jose. What You’ll do:<a></a> <ul><li>Coordinate facility and equipment projects of critical importance to QuantumScape future, including process &amp; utility piping, facility space expansions, and installation of first-of-its-kind equipment</li><li>Establish, track and deliver the project scope, timeline and budget.  Develop the procedures used to guide projects from kick-off through successful qualification &amp; commissioning and turn-over to operations and maintenance.</li><li>Partner with EH&amp;S to ensure contractor and employee safety during all aspects of facilities and equipment installations.</li><li>Develop the maintenance strategy for facilities and equipment including critical spare parts inventory, standard operating procedures and work instructions.</li><li>Identify, communicate and mitigate scope changes, schedule risks and budget variances to help ensure successful project completion.</li><li>Ensure components, materials, sub-systems and systems related to facilities and equipment installations comply with quality standards.</li><li>Drive competitive bidding and contractor negotiations to reduce facility and equipment installation costs.</li><li>Ensure regulatory compliance with building codes for facility and equipment installations.</li><li>Effectively communicate project status to all interested team members, including senior management, internal customers including senior scientists, and external contractors and service providers.</li><li>Drive frequent, open communication with a diverse team of internal and external partners, from scientists to vendors to senior management, as you help deliver hugely meaningful improvements to our capabilities</li><li>Develop and scaffold team members in project management practices, regardless of experience level</li></ul><h2> </h2>Knowledge, skills &amp; abilities: <ul><li>Experience specifying, installing, and closing out installation of manufacturing equipment in the battery manufacturing sector</li><li>Working understanding of construction timelines and WBS for installation of industrial equipment</li><li>Proficiency in preparing scheduling tools and project charters</li><li>Familiarity with City of San Jose permitting requirements</li><li>Thrive in a multi-faceted, technically challenging environment, and quickly adapt to changes.</li><li>An excellent communicator and enjoy working as part of a collaborative team to tackle complex challenges.</li><li>Able to multi-task with excellent time management.</li><li>Share a real passion for our mission.</li></ul><h2> </h2>Minimum Requirements, Education &amp; Experience: <ul><li>Bachelor’s &amp; 10+ years of experience or Master’s degree &amp; 8+ years of experience in industrial design, engineering, construction management, or another technical field</li><li>You have a proven ability to coordinate multiple concurrent projects across diverse teams</li><li>You are organized, pay attention to the details, and have excellent project management skills</li><li>You are an outstanding communicator that can empathize with others while still holding them accountable</li><li>Experience in an engineering subject helps but is not required</li></ul>  ONSITE: This position is required to work onsite 5 days per week to meet the minimum essential duties and requirements of this position.  As an on-site R&amp;D and manufacturing operations organization, in-person face to face interaction is essential to building authentic relationships, trust, teamwork, and collaboration.  Compensation &amp; Benefits: Expected salary range for this role is from $122,300 to $186,500, and a final salary will be determined by the candidate's experience and educational background.
