The position is based in Hagerstown, MD.This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in data analysis, visualization, and strategic sourcing within a global organization. You will work closely with procurement professionals to transform complex data into actionable insights that drive smarter purchasing decisions and improve supplier performance.Responsibilities<ul><li>Extract, clean, and analyze procurement data from ERP systems such as SAP and Jaggaer, as well as supplier portals and spend analytics tools.</li><li>Identify patterns, trends, and anomalies in spend data to support strategic sourcing and cost-saving initiatives.</li><li>Design and maintain interactive dashboards in Power BI to visualize key procurement metrics including spend distribution, supplier performance, contract compliance, and category trends.</li><li>Ensure dashboards are user-friendly and tailored to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.</li><li>Build predictive models to forecast demand, pricing fluctuations, and supply availability using historical data and market trends.</li><li>Support scenario planning and risk mitigation strategies.</li><li>Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to translate business needs into data-driven solutions.</li><li>Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders to support decision-making.</li></ul>Required Skills/Knowledge:<ul><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, macros) and Power BI (data modeling, DAX).</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present insights clearly to diverse audiences.</li><li>Knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, or ERP systems is a plus.</li></ul>Education:<ul><li>Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Analytics, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Economics, or a related field with a graduation date between December 2026 and December 2027.</li></ul>In accordance with the DOT’s FRA and FTA programs, Hitachi’s substance screening program tests pre-employment candidates and current employees, as required for safety-sensitive positions.The hourly pay for this position is $20 per hour.#LI-RC1#LI-OnsiteEqual Opportunity Employer (EOE)-Females/Minorities/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities If you need a reasonable accommodation to apply for a job at Hitachi, please send the nature of request and contact information to hrunitedstates@hitachirail.com.
