Position Overview:Solid Power, Inc. located in Thornton, Colorado is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our talented team of engineers and scientists working to revolutionize the battery industry through the development of next-generation, all-solid-state rechargeable batteries. This is a dynamic, fast-paced, and collaborative environment where the technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our advanced battery material production equipment.This role is responsible for the preventative maintenance, critical repairs, and expert troubleshooting support to help maintain reliability and performance of our specialized equipment within the Electrolyte Technologies department.Job Duties:<ul><li>Uphold the highest safety standards, ensuring all tasks are performed safely and in compliance with company and industry regulations. Strict adherence to PPE requirements in designated areas is essential</li><li>Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on specialized equipment, including pumps, motors, agitators, mechanical seals, tanks, valves, pipes, hydraulics, condensers, temperature control units, oil heating units, furnaces, and pneumatic transport systems</li><li>Diagnose and troubleshoot complex equipment malfunctions, utilizing schematics, manuals, and your deep technical understanding. Propose and implement robust solutions to prevent recurring issues</li><li>Develop, implement, and refine preventative maintenance schedules based on equipment performance data, ensuring optimal uptime and efficiency</li><li>Provide technical guidance and support to the maintenance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing</li><li>Work closely with the equipment and production teams to ensure seamless operations and address maintenance needs proactively</li></ul>Qualifications/Requirements:<ul><li>High School Diploma/GED required</li><li>Experience working with pumps, motors, agitators, mechanical seals, tanks, valves, pipes, hydraulics, condensers, temperature control units, oil heating units, furnaces, pneumatic transport systems, including a deep understanding of their operation and maintenance</li><li>Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment, with a strong mechanical aptitude. Experience in chemical and/or battery production is preferred</li><li>Expertise in machine repair, electrical repairs, plumbing, pipefitting, welding, sheet metal, millwright, and technical maintenance procedures</li><li>Ability to work and complete assigned tasks with minimal oversight</li><li>Clear understanding of how PLCs operate in a manufacturing environment</li><li>Good understanding of construction drawings, P&amp;IDs, system schematics and system technical information</li><li>Ability and experience in the rigging, moving, and setting of very heavy systems and components safely</li><li>Forklift operator certification desired</li></ul>Physical Requirements<ul><li>Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy equipment and tools (up to 50 pounds)</li><li>Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and crouch for extended periods</li><li>Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights</li><li>Ability to withstand exposure to noise, vibration, and extreme temperatures</li><li>Ability to work safely in a potentially hazardous environment</li><li>Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as necessary including, but not limited to eye protection, hair net, gloves, face mask, coveralls, full-face respirator or PAPR</li></ul>Salary Range: $30.00 - $46.49/hour Benefits: Solid Power offers a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical/dental/vision insurance, employer paid Life/AD&amp;D/STD/LTD insurance, 401k with company match, paid holidays, generous PTO, up to six (6) weeks paid FMLA leave, cell phone reimbursement and eligibility to participate in our equity plan. Export Control Requirements: This position could require access to technology, software and other information that is subject to governmental access control restrictions, due to export controls.
