It is also the Park’s largest fundraiser, raising critical funding to keep our spaces clean, green, and open every day of the year. This event brings over 100,000 visitors to experience the Park at night in festive lights.This position will serve as a Lead for the event, reporting to the Events Manager, overseeing Event logistics, and working closely with other team members in the park to meet overall goals of guest experience and fundraising for Shelby Farms Park. <h1>Duties + Areas of Responsibility</h1><ul style="margin-top:2px;"><li style="margin-top:2px;margin-left:8px;">Process Starry Nights tickets – both pre-purchased and at the gate, including cash-handling</li><li style="margin-top:2px;margin-right:3px;margin-left:8px;">Lead Support Staff in conducting opening and closing procedures of ticket area and merchandise or throughout the event area for signage or traffic logistics</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Oversee merchandise sales and distribution during event</li><li style="margin-top:2px;margin-left:8px;">Ensure the smooth flow of traffic throughout the event area</li><li style="margin-top:2px;margin-left:8px;">Maintains a working knowledge of Starry Nights facts and FAQs</li><li style="margin-top:2px;margin-right:26px;margin-left:8px;">Demonstrates and enforces the Park standard and reputation of above and beyond customer service to help create a memorable event experience for guests</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Protects employees and customers by providing a safe and clean environment</li><li style="margin-top:2px;margin-left:8px;">Utilize Park Golf Cart safely to support the Event</li></ul>Qualifications <h1 style="margin-top:8px;">Requirements + Desired Qualifications</h1><ul style="margin-top:2px;"><li style="margin-top:2px;margin-right:32px;margin-left:8px;">Must commit to work at least four (4) five-hour shifts per week between November 28th 2025 - January 3rd 2026.</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Enthusiastic, dependable, self-motivated and self-aware</li><li style="margin-top:2px;margin-left:8px;">Problem-solver who enjoys improving systems and collaborating with others</li><li style="margin-top:2px;margin-right:66px;margin-left:8px;">Excellent communications skills and desire to provide a friendly and enjoyable customer experience</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Demonstrates values of teamwork, accountability, authenticity, and learning</li><li style="margin-top:2px;margin-left:8px;">Works well in a fast-paced environment</li><li style="margin-top:2px;margin-left:8px;">Available for an in-person staff training on November 23rd, 2025</li><li style="margin-top:2px;margin-left:8px;">Organized and attention to detail</li></ul><h1 style="margin-top:8px;">Physical Demands + Working Environment</h1><ul style="margin-top:2px;"><li style="margin-top:2px;margin-left:8px;">Ability to stand or walk / move independently constantly during shift</li><li style="margin-top:2px;margin-left:8px;">Must be able to lift 30 lbs. and move 20 ft</li><li style="margin-top:2px;margin-right:17px;margin-left:8px;">Physical ability to perform required tasks and work outdoors in extreme environmental conditions (heat, cold, inclement weather)</li></ul><h1>Compensation + Scheduling</h1>Salary: $15/hr.Part-time (15 - 35 hours per week)Shift: 5:30 pm - 9:30 pm or 5:30 pm - 10:30 pmStarry Nights Season: November 24, 2025 - January 3, 2026 Must be available to work weekends and holidays
