We are uniquely positioned as experts in all aspects of the electric grid including renewables, energy storage, grid modernization, electrification, and distribution and transmission engineering.<h2>Responsibilities</h2>Join us in leading the change!As a Power Systems Engineer III at EPE you will utilize extensive knowledge to execute and lead advanced power system studies for utilities and ISOs in the USA East region.  This critical role will also work to create solutions, directly engage with client, and support business development by contributing to request for proposals as well as mentor junior staff. How you can make an impact:<ul> <li>Executes and oversees high-level bulk power system studies using various power systems software such as PSS/E, TARA, DSA Tools, and Aspen.</li> <li>Ensure the timely completion of projects assigned while meeting all project quality and budget objectives.</li> <li>Reviews and approves data analysis and interpretation of engineering, financial, and economic conditions and results, and subsequent business implications to client projects.</li> <li>Interact with clients to seek input and address their needs and concerns with respect to the projects under study.</li> <li>Leads and trains a team of engineers to independently execute power system analyses and transmission system planning studies.</li> <li>Perform generic and specialized studies of the power grid, such as generation interconnection studies, transmission system planning, remedial action evaluation, black-start studies, and sub-synchronous Resonance assessment.</li> <li>Develop mitigation plans for identified steady-state and dynamic constraints and system issues.</li> <li>Develop and review transmission planning study methodologies and processes.</li> <li>Lead process improvement efforts to enhance efficiency and support business development activities.</li></ul> <h2>Qualifications</h2>Bring your passion, here's what’s needed:<ul> <li>Bachelor of Science or higher in Electrical Engineering or related field</li> <li>2-3+ years of professional experience as a Power Systems Engineer with hands-on experience working with steady-state and dynamic base cases</li> <li>Solid understanding of power system basics, transient stability, and master in of-the-shelve software tools like PSS/E and TARA.</li> <li>Knowledge of multiple power regions of the country and independent system operators such as PJM, MISO, NEISO, SPP, CAISO, WECC, SERC, ERCOT, NYISO</li> <li>Proven team player skills with the ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships.</li> <li>Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal, particularly with respect to explaining technical matters.</li> <li>Strong technical/report writing skills.</li></ul>Preferred qualifications:<ul> <li>Bachelor's degree with focus in power systems</li> <li>SPP or Midwest MISO region experience</li> <li>PSCAD or EMT study experience</li></ul>Here's how we'll support you:<ul> <li>Comprehensive health and wellness benefits including medical, dental, and vision with 100% premium coverage for you.</li> <li>Generous PTO and paid holidays</li> <li>EPE MyShare Employee Ownership Program </li> <li>Work with industry leaders</li> <li>401K, up to a 4% match (100% vested from day 1)</li> <li>Flexible Work including hybrid and remote possibilities base on position.</li></ul> Location: This position will be remote based in the US or CanadaTravel:  Occasional travel may be needed (10% or less) EPE is an equal opportunity/AA/Disability/Veteran employer.
