Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.</li><li>Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.</li><li>Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids.</li><li>Assist with the design of fire protection systems for commercial and institutional facilities.</li><li>Identify risks and design safeguards that aid in preventing, controlling, and mitigating the effects of fires.</li><li>Assist architects, building owners and developers in evaluating buildings' life safety and property protection goals.</li><li>Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member.</li><li>Prepare basic deliverables and products such as presentation materials, calculations, design drawings, specifications, cost estimates related to fire protection engineering.</li><li>Review applicable codes and criteria and examine field conditions as required to support development and completion of projects.</li><li>Assist lead engineer in project design or site survey tasks as required.</li><li>Provide egress and fire modeling assistance using FDS or other software.</li></ul>
