The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Brisbane, Australia.The Senior Contracts Manager will play a critical role in an expanding portfolio of works packages that relate to the ETCS Alliance framework for the Cross River Rail Project, Queensland. The successful candidate will join an established team of contract professionals to support the delivery of this exciting program of works.Key responsibilities:<ul><li>Accountable to lead end to end contracts management activities on a given works package including upstream and downstream management.</li><li>Preparation of contractual correspondence to be issued to the customer and sub-contractors as required. </li><li>Collaborating with project managers to ensure compliance with the terms set out within the upstream agreement with the customer.</li><li>Liaising with counterparts within the customer organisation to manage contractual issues, change and adherence to governance processes.</li><li>Actively support procurement team to ensure downstream terms and conditions are robust and dovetail with upstream terms as required.  </li><li>Oversee the management of sub-contractors to ensure downstream claims, issues and variations are managed in accordance with the contract.</li><li>Working closely with the Contract Change Manager to support with the assessment of upstream change in accordance with the mechanisms within the contract.</li><li>Liaising with stakeholders to develop relationships within a collaborative Alliance setting.</li><li>Provide data and input into the monthly commercial report and established reporting forums (Monthly and Quarterly performance reviews).</li><li>Present contractual information and briefings to senior alliance stakeholders.</li></ul>Skills &amp; Experience:The qualifications and skills required for the role of the Senior Contracts Manager will encompass a wide range of attributes, including:<ul><li>A bachelor's degree in a relevant field.</li><li>Proven experience in a risk sharing alliance model would be advantageous in the role.  </li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Attention to detail and organizational abilities.</li><li>Knowledge and experience of working on complex rail projects is preferrable.</li><li>Financial acumen and understanding of financial reports.</li><li>Previous experience in quantity surveying or similar skills would be considered a advantage in this role.</li><li>Able to work within a team and adopt a proactive problem-solving approach.</li></ul>These qualifications collectively equip the Senior Contract Manager with the expertise necessary to manage the contractual aspects of the program effectively, ensuring that it aligns with project goals, adheres to financial and legal requirements, and meets established industry standards.At Hitachi Rail, we know that a diverse business is a sustainable business.
