Perform engineering analysis and design or re-design, and development of components into existing and new vehicles.YOUR IMPACT:  These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned: <ul><li>Under close supervision, perform basic engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks as assigned according to Pierce Manufacturing as well as general industry engineering standards and processes.</li><li>Support senior engineers in the preparation of basic plans, designs, computation methods, and/or reporting.</li><li>Under close supervision, work on projects of limited complexity in a support role.</li><li>Collaborate as needed with other engineering or business support disciplines internally as well as suppliers externally.</li><li>Maintain effective communication with suppliers, internal and external customers, and outside resources concerning technical issues.</li><li>Enforce the proper use of engineering criteria and drawing standards. Ensure that technical issues are conducted within the framework of company policies and procedures.</li><li>Evaluate designs for performance, safety, and reliability.</li><li>Perform and Directs preparation of layouts, drawings, specifications, and bills of material.</li><li>Perform engineering analysis to support the selection of parts, components, and materials that meet requirements.</li><li>Provide non-complex technical assistance for production support.</li><li>Analyze and resolve issues reported to Engineering via verbal or written communication.</li><li>Review technical documents, sales proposals, and data.</li><li>Prepare reports and presentations.</li><li>Utilize analytical and mathematical approaches to calculate or model system performance and optimize designs.</li><li>Analyze and resolve issues reported to Engineering and communicate status via verbal or written communication.</li></ul>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  <ul><li>Accredited Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field along with Internship experience or six (6) or more months of related work experience.</li></ul>STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS: <ul><li>Experience in a manufacturing environment.</li><li>Experience with a high-level CAD system. CATIA V5 preferred.</li><li>Mechanical knowledge of automotive or heavy-vehicle equipment and related systems.</li><li>Familiarity with a manufacturing environment.</li><li>Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.</li><li>Detailed oriented.</li><li>Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive or firefighting equipment and related systems.</li><li>Previous experience in manufacturing or manufacturing support role.</li><li>Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and internal cross-functional teams.</li></ul>WORKING CONDITIONS:The following represents general working conditions for this role.
