If you’re the kind of person who sees a problem, develops a solution, and engineers an improvement no one’s asked for yet, then we want to talk with you! Please note this position is for hardware design engineer, not a simulation engineer or thermal analyst. Candidates w/o prior mechanical design experience employing CAD will not be considered for this role.</p><p> </p><p>The Role:</p><p>· Use engineering principles to design parts and assemblies and subsystems for automotive thermal system.</p><p>· Develop conceptual packaging models for various thermal components including heat exchangers, fans and blowers, fluid transfer lines, airflow channels, support brackets, etc.</p><p>· Integrate components into larger mechanical subsystems to reduce vehicle assembly part count and assembly time.</p><p>· Work with other engineering teams and suppliers to review design solutions and guide design changes, ensure packaging compliance</p><p>(vehicle clearances) and various performance attributes like thermal, software compliance, NVH, mass are all met.</p><p>· Own, drive, and confirm design improvement changes with help from Programs, Manufacturing, and Suppliers.</p><p> </p><p>Qualifications:</p><p>· Proven experience creating complex CAD models (CATIA V6 preferred) quickly and efficiently.</p><p>· Experience generating 2D drawings fully defining engineering requirements.</p><p>· Knowledge of GD&amp;T and how it applies to part, assembly, and customer requirements.</p><p>· Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals such as fluid flow, thermals, strength &amp; stiffness of materials.</p><p>· 4-6 years relevant design &amp; engineering experience (new grads: Formula SAE or similar experience will be considered).</p><p>· Excellent work ethic, well-developed teamwork and interpersonal skills.
