Position responsibilities<ul style="margin-bottom:11px;list-style-type:square;"><li>Provide research support for client deliverables, including research notes, briefing decks, and email alerts, etc.</li><li>Provide research and writing support for longer-form client projects.</li><li>Conduct regular tracking of news and policy developments of interest to clients.</li><li>Provide research support for business development activities.</li><li>Contribute to the firm’s knowledge base on issues related to China’s economy and policies, US-China and EU-China dynamics, global trends related to China, and sectoral or topical issues of interest to our corporate clients.</li></ul>Qualifications Competitive candidates will have the following qualifications:<ul><li>A master’s degree in international economics, international affairs, China/Asia studies, political science, law, or other relevant fields; or a bachelor’s degree in similar fields with at least two years of professional experience.</li><li>Strong understanding of China’s economy, China-world trade and investment trends, as well as geopolitical dynamics, technology competition, and regulatory trends influencing China’s economic engagement with the world.</li><li>Excellent research and data analysis skills with the ability to prepare clear and accurate reports of research results. Ability to synthesize policy developments and/or economic data into succinct and compelling stories.</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to present information clearly and concisely through memos, reports, briefings, and other deliverables.</li><li>Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and capacity for self-directed work. The candidate should be capable of handling multiple time-sensitive projects at once and independently produce client-ready, polished outputs.</li><li>Near native-level English writing and speaking skills, as well as high degree of reading proficiency in Chinese (to include ability to quickly read, summarize, and extract key findings and nuance from Chinese-language newspaper articles and policy documents).</li><li>Strong proficiency with Excel for data analysis and visualization.
