We are a global company, and our products—including mobile elevating work platforms, telehandlers, utility vehicles and accessories—can be found all over the world.The Industrial Engineer will coordinate manufacturing processes by developing, evaluating and improving manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThese duties are not all-inclusive; other duties may be assigned.<ul><li>Research and formulate plans to accomplish major projects, including manpower estimates, cost estimates and work measuring devices such as milestones or critical path charts.</li><li>Compare legacy product design to new product design to identify differences in components and labor content.</li><li>Review BOM (Bill of Material) for accuracy in support of proposal work.</li><li>Document assumptions, methodology/rationale, and labor estimate using basis of estimate (BOE) document.</li><li>Estimate labor hours using existing reports provided by Finance Team.</li><li>Collaborate with design teams to complete BOM comparison and review contractual requirements to ensure all costs are captured.</li><li>Develop and write proposals for production processes.</li><li>Author manufacturing plans to capture proposed production methods for future programs.</li><li>Support cost estimate activities for both new product lines and contract extensions; including research to make recommendations on make vs buy of manufactured components.</li><li>Identify process improvements in the areas of safety, quality, and productivity utilizing lean and six sigma principles and methodologies.</li><li>Establish manpower requirements, line and sub-assembly balancing data, and expectancy time performance.</li><li>Participate in product launch activities, as needed.</li><li>Present estimates for peer, management, and/or customer review.</li><li>Develop and mentor assigned industrial engineers and technicians.</li></ul><div></div>Basic Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or in a related field.</li><li>Five (5) or more years in costing, estimating, industrial engineering and/or in a related area.</li></ul><div></div>Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>Experience working within the heavy equipment manufacturing industry or automobile industry.</li><li>Experience in automotive assembly operations with application of Lean and/or Six Sigma tools.</li><li>Prior experience with JD Edwards or related AS400 system.</li><li>Prior experience with Showcase or an AS400 data query extraction program and Propricer or a related proposal management software.</li><li>Experience with the application of learning and break in production curves using CURV1, BREAK, or similar software programs.</li><li>Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; including a strong emphasis on Excel.</li><li>Prior experience with managing data and producing charts in Excel.</li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Project management skills working with multiple priorities and the ability to manage large quantities of data.</li><li>Analytical, critical thinking, attention to detail, communication and patterning skills to evaluate data and provide recommendations.</li></ul><div></div>Working ConditionsThis role is based at the Pune Plant in a manufacturing/production environment and involves:<ul><li>Frequent presence on the shop floor in welding, fabrication, assembly, and testing areas.</li><li>Exposure to noise, welding sparks, paint fumes, moving machinery, and temperature variations.</li><li>Periods of standing and walking across production areas; occasional bending or climbing to access equipment for inspection.</li><li>Requirement to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) (e.g., safety glasses, hearing protection, safety shoes, etc.).</li></ul>
