<div> Advert Close date: 14th November 2025<h2>Senior Surveyor – St James’s at The Crown Estate</h2> <h3>Purpose of Role</h3>As Senior Surveyor, you will play a key role in managing the prestigious St James’s portfolio at The Crown Estate. You’ll be part of our in-house property management team, delivering best-in-class service across a range of mixed-use assets. Your focus will be on achieving business plan objectives and property management targets, ensuring customer, financial, safety, and sustainability performance is met.<h3>Context of Opportunity / Main Accountabilities</h3><ul><li>Take ownership of day-to-day property management, driving consistent and high-quality delivery.</li><li>Ensure accurate data and timely reporting for designated assets, meeting agreed KPIs.</li><li>Manage lease compliance, rent collection, and financial recovery, maintaining tight controls.</li><li>Budget, implement, manage, and reconcile service charges in line with RICS standards.</li><li>Manage voids, statutory compliance, and operational overheads, optimising energy efficiency.</li><li>Collaborate with development, engineering, capital projects, and building surveying teams to support project delivery and asset stewardship.</li><li>Contribute to team priorities, seeking opportunities to innovate and improve processes, systems, and customer service.</li><li>Mentor and support junior team members.</li><li>Enhance customer experience through high-quality communication and regular interaction.</li><li>Build strong relationships with service partners to ensure optimal service performance.</li><li>Support asset-level due diligence for acquisitions and disposals.</li><li>Help deliver The Crown Estate’s sustainability strategy, including Net Zero and local interventions.</li><li>Work collaboratively to maintain exemplary compliance across health, safety, and environmental standards.</li><li>Provide support in crisis and incident management.</li><li>Foster a workplace culture where everyone feels valued, supported, and accountable.</li></ul><h3>Most Important Skills-Based Requirements</h3><ul><li>MRICS or equivalent,  with at least 5 years’ direct property management experience (client side or managing agent).</li><li>Strong ability to deliver excellent customer service and build effective relationships.</li><li>Proven asset management skills, driving performance in line with business priorities and KPIs.</li><li>Good knowledge of landlord and tenant matters, with relevant experience.</li><li>Experience managing mixed-use and multi-let buildings.</li><li>People and supplier management experience.</li><li>Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel.</li><li>Ability to handle high-pressure situations and prioritise tasks effectively.</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills.</li><li>Foundational understanding of sustainability, ESG, and health and safety in real estate.</li><li>Highly motivated team player who can also work independently.</li><li>Effective collaborator and relationship builder across all stakeholder groups.</li><li>Passion for continuous improvement through data, process, and system enhancements.</li><li>Solution-oriented, with a positive attitude and strong focus on customer service.</li></ul>The Crown Estate is committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce.
