Your role will be crucial in assessing creditworthiness, managing risk, and ensuring the financial health of the organization through effective credit management and strategic decision-making. This position collaborates with various teams within the organization, including Finance, Sales, Engineering, Legal, and other departments to ensure sound risk decisions align with our company's objectives and risk tolerance. Your insights and recommendations will play a crucial role in shaping our risk policies and procedures, ultimately contributing to the overall success and growth of our organization.Responsibilities and Duties: Underwriting &amp; Risk Assessment: <ul><li>Refine and improve credit underwriting frameworks for distributed power projects, energy service agreements, and equipment financing transactions. </li><li>Assess counterparty risk for project developers, independent power producers, corporate offtakers, and end customers. </li><li>Work with the pricing function on financial models, cash flow projections, and collateral structures to ensure risk-adjusted returns. </li><li>Evaluate contract structures, including power purchase agreements (PPAs), lease agreements, and as-a-service models, to identify potential risks and mitigants. </li><li>Lead the underwriting process for energy projects, ensuring a thorough evaluation of technical and financial aspects. </li></ul>Credit Risk &amp; Portfolio Management: <ul><li>Define credit policies and procedures to ensure consistent risk evaluation and decision-making. </li><li>Monitor portfolio performance, identify emerging risks, and recommend corrective actions. </li><li>Maintain credit risk exposure limits and provide reporting to senior management. </li><li>Oversee the credit approval process and team working closely with internal stakeholders. </li><li>Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with project financing, including technical and operational risks. </li></ul>Contract Review &amp; Approvals<ul><li>Serve as the primary risk representative in the review and negotiation of contracts and transaction documents. </li><li>Evaluate and provide input on risk-related business terms within contracts, including indemnities, termination rights, performance guarantees, and payment structures. </li><li>Collaborate with legal and commercial teams to ensure alignment between risk appetite and contractual obligations. </li><li>Regulatory &amp; Compliance Oversight: </li><li>Ensure all underwriting processes comply with relevant regulations and company policies. </li><li>Ensure compliance with federal, state, and industry regulations related to financing renewable energy assets and energy service contracts. </li><li>Align risk policies with sustainability and ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) standards. </li><li>Cross-Functional Collaboration &amp; Leadership: </li><li>Work closely with sales, finance, legal, and operations teams to support structured transactions. </li><li>Provide risk advisory for new product development and market expansion strategies. </li><li>Lead internal risk training programs to enhance underwriting and risk awareness. </li></ul>Required Abilities and Skills: <ul><li>Strong understanding of financial structuring, credit risk analysis, and asset-backed lending. </li><li>Expertise in power purchase agreements (PPAs) and energy service contracts. </li><li>Familiarity with renewable energy policies, tax credits, and incentive structures. </li><li>Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills. </li><li>Experience working with lenders, investors, and credit agencies to assess and mitigate risks. </li><li>Proven leadership skills with experience managing and developing a team. </li><li>Exceptional communication and presentation abilities. </li><li>Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment</li></ul>. Education and Experience: <ul><li>10+ years of experience in risk management, credit underwriting, or project finance, preferably in renewable energy, distributed power, or equipment finance.  </li><li>Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Renewable Energy, or related field) and/or Finance, Economics, Business Administration.
