The primary responsibility of this role is to model the physics of electric vehicles.</p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>· Develop and maintain system models to solve mechanical, electrical, and thermal problems in electric vehicles.</p><p>· Build tools to support the pre-processing of simulation parameters and the post-processing of simulation results.</p><p>· Analyze the effect of changing parameters on the behavior of single components and complete systems.</p><p>· Collaborate with multiple engineering departments to understand physics, create models, and collect parameters for system level modeling.</p><p>· Couple the effects of different systems in an EV, including motor, gearbox, inverter, battery, charger, chassis, cooling, and controls.</p><p>· Develop automotive cabin thermal models for HVAC sizing and cabin comfort.</p><p>· Collaborate with vehicle testing teams to instrument vehicles to correlate and validate models.</p><p>Required Qualifications:</p><p>· Fundamental knowledge in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and energy systems.</p><p>· Deep understanding of physics and modeling techniques.</p><p>· Expertise in modeling and simulation.</p><p>· Excellent communication skills in both technical and non-technical environments.</p><p>· Passion for problem-solving.</p><p>· Curiosity in learning.</p><p>· Ability to work cross-functionally with hardware, software, and test teams.</p><p>· Ability to work in a high paced environment.</p><p> </p><p>Highly Preferred Qualifications:</p><p>· Experience with Matlab and Simulink software.</p><p>· Experience and passion for hands-on work.</p><p>· Experience and knowledge of electric vehicles including batteries, drive units, motor control, and power electronics.</p><p>· Experience in HVAC and comfort modeling.</p><p>Education:</p><p>· Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.</p><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div>At Lucid, we don’t just welcome diversity - we celebrate it!
