The Program Manager is responsible for rolling out new business areas and maintaining positive working relations with clients, third-party auditors, stakeholders, and other related business partners. The Program Manager also maintains a high level of technical knowledge of the program subject matter. This position is responsible for quality assurance and accreditation requirements, when applicable.Relevant Standards/Schemes<ul> <li>Carbon Neutral</li> <li>Environmental Claims Validation</li> <li>Environmental Product Declarations (EPD)</li> <li>ISO 14044 Life Cycle Assessments Environmental Management - LCA</li> <li>ISO 14067 Greenhouse Gases - Carbon Footprint of Products</li> <li>Others, as determined</li></ul>Essential Duties and Responsibilities Financial Management<ul> <li>Forecast program revenue and profitability on a quarterly and annual basis</li> <li>Establish program budget planning and projections through data analysis and regular tracking</li> <li>Oversee program specific pricing strategies with contracts and agreements to meet program revenue and profitability goals</li> <li>Allocate resources to maximize program profitability and a beneficial work/life balance for the team</li> <li>Develop and document procedures to ensure efficient and compliant program operation</li></ul>Business Development and Strategic Planning<ul> <li>Develop and maintain relationships with key clients</li> <li>Scope and prepare proposals for new projects</li> <li>Identify and develop opportunities to expand services into new markets in cooperation with the sales and marketing teams</li> <li>Coordinate and support international business development efforts</li> <li>Monitor and stay current on program trends, standards, and developments</li> <li>Represent program and promote services at trade shows, conferences, and industry events</li></ul>Operation Management<ul> <li>Manage resources including people resources to optimize productivity and achieve operational goals</li> <li>Provide operational training to staff, auditors, and partner organizations when opportunities arise</li> <li>Collaborate with IT and other internal stakeholders to drive improvements to software/IT platforms and resources and to train users to ensure consistent and efficient use</li> <li>Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOP) to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and maintain quality standards</li> <li>Oversee Objective Key Results (OKR), analyze data, and identify areas for improvement to enhance operational efficiency</li> <li>Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management, providing insights on operational performance, challenges, and opportunities</li> <li>Identify potential risks and implement strategies to mitigate them, ensuring operational continuity and compliance with regulations</li></ul>Quality Management<ul> <li>Ensure program compliance with corporate quality system and accreditation, when applicable, through external organizations</li> <li>Ensure consistent interpretation and application of standards</li> <li>Oversee internal and external audit processes in collaboration with stakeholders and ensure nonconformities are resolved</li> <li>Participate in investigation of complaints</li> <li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align operations with organizational objectives and drive process improvements</li> <li>Adhere to and enforce all quality and code of conduct standards</li> <li>As necessary, conduct interviews, consult with stakeholders, and write reports for audit projects in order to maintain auditor qualifications</li></ul>Technical Management<ul> <li>Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable protocols and standards</li> <li>Conduct audits in conformance with pertinent protocols as a lead auditor or technical reviewer within established timelines</li> <li>Draft internal guidance and materials to train staff and contractors</li> <li>Conduct training and provide program specific technical oversight</li></ul>Minimum Qualifications<ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field and</li> <li>4+ years of relevant work experience in account management, customer relations, or sales and</li> <li>4+ years of experience involving leading or managing a team</li> <li>Proficient with business software including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Sales CRM systems such as Salesforce</li> <li>Well-developed organizational, project management, and prioritization skills</li> <li>Excellent professional written and verbal communication and negotiation skills</li> <li>Initiative, good judgment, and ability to work independently under pressure in a changing environment</li> <li>Commitment to SCS values and environmental issues</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul> <li>Master's Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field</li> <li>Experience and strong knowledge within the environmental sustainability industry, specifically third-party certification, verification, and/or assurance</li> <li>Ability to lead an audit</li> <li>Life Cycle Assessment Certified Professional (LCACP)</li> <li>Certified LCA Reviewer (CLAR)</li></ul>The above description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
