Together we can continue to create the “grid of the future”!<h2>Responsibilities</h2>Join us in leading the change!As a Distribution Planning Engineer Staff I you will develop and conduct computer modeling, analysis, reports, presentations, and technical research related to various elements of the distribution system including distribution planning studies, short circuit and protection coordination studies, system design studies, cost-benefit and alternatives analysis, generation interconnection applications, and distributed energy resource system impacts.  How you can make an impact:<ul> <li>Provide client support on electrical theory, technical problem-solving, code compliance, and other technical subject matter.</li> <li>Perform classic distribution planning studies including load growth projections based on historical trends, power flow studies in multiple software environments, planning criteria mitigation studies, and alternative analysis. </li> <li>Identify expected system impacts from the interconnection of distributed energy resource technologies and determine appropriate and cost-effective mitigation measures where necessary.</li> <li>Perform research and analysis work related to the proliferation of distributed energy resources and distribution automation capabilities including solar, wind, storage, electric vehicles, conservation voltage reduction, automated circuit restoration, and other emerging technologies.</li> <li>Prepare reports, letters, one-line diagrams, and maps to communicate study results.</li> <li>Process, generate, and maintain data as required for other engineering related studies.</li> <li>Take responsibility for the timely completion of projects assigned while meeting all project quality and budget objectives.</li> <li>Participates in multi-functional teams to obtain input, address comments, and perform studies.</li> <li>Assists in developing tools, processes, and procedures that enhance engineering study completion.</li></ul> <h2>Qualifications</h2>Bring your passion, here's what’s needed:<ul> <li>Proven team player with the ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships.</li> <li>Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal, particularly with respect to explaining technical matters.</li> <li>Strong organizational, interpersonal, problem solving, and analytical skills.</li> <li>Capable of managing multiple tasks.</li> <li>Flexible with the ability to manage change.Have high standards in producing quality reports and products that he/she shall own with pride.</li> <li>Strong technical report writing skills.</li> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Electric Engineering with an emphasis in power systems</li> <li>Experience automating/programing in Python preferred.</li></ul> Lead the change!Be a part of an innovative team shaping the grid of the future through advanced energy intelligence.  For more than half a century, Electric Power Engineers (EPE) has partnered with power and energy clients across the globe, providing consulting expertise and energy intelligence software solutions for complex engineering and grid modeling challenges.
