As a trusted name in building and infrastructure for more than 50 years, we're a customer-focused company that grows through product innovation broadening the solution for the entire industry.  Job Summary  The Project Engineering department is seeking students who have completed 2 or 3 years of their present Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering program. The intern will provide support for project managers and safety engineers, with the Ontario group, and will also be available to offer help to our Montreal team.  Principal Responsibilities  The successful candidate will: <ul><li>Contribute to the realization of several projects,  in different phases,  in particular in the stages of CAD.</li><li>Engineering calculations (supervised).</li><li>Creating CAD drawings, BOMs, and schematics.</li><li>Project documentation write-ups: quote specifications, AFE’s, cost summaries, functional specifications, Gantt charts, MOC forms maintenance, meeting minutes, Equipment SOP, and procedures.</li><li>Purchasing activities-RFQ,  PO’s,  market/product  search, specification reviews, and comparison.</li><li>Equipment testing, test measurements, test plans, and test report write-ups.</li><li>AFE support tasks: ROI calculations, data collection and analysis.</li><li>Project realization assistance-assessment reports write-up, PSR write-up help.</li><li>Safety reviews assistance-assessment reports write-up, PSR write-up help.</li><li>Work closely with  Project engineers,  provide support for project managers, and the safety engineer.</li><li>Communicate with our suppliers and production plants.</li><li>Make measurements of dimensions and observations in the factory.</li><li>Update Plant layout plans, make drawings of parts, and design mechanical subsystems.</li><li>Write the Scope of Work and get quotes from suppliers.</li><li>Search for components of mechanical systems, place orders, and ensure delivery follow-ups.</li><li>Supervise installations and commissioning.</li></ul>Qualifications &amp; Experience <ul><li>Having completed 2 or 3 years of a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering program.</li><li>Practical knowledge of 3D CAD software, the knowledge of Inventor or AUTOCAD will be an asset.</li><li>Knowledge of the layout of technical drawings.</li><li>Strong communication skills in both verbal and written.</li><li>Open for 8-month term starting in January 2026</li></ul>IPEX is committed to providing accommodations for people with disabilities throughout the recruitment process and, upon request, will work with qualified job applicants to provide suitable accommodation in a manner that takes into account the applicant’s accessibility needs due to disability.
