We are present on four continents and are headquartered in Oslo, Norway. Main purpose of positionCurrently we are looking for a Senior Electrician (Bess) in Kathu Northern Cape South Africa to be part of our global team working together towards our vision – Improving our future.  As our Electrician you will perform Electrical work on the Plant that will include Modification, Repair and Maintenance of Electrical Equipment and Systems as well as switching, isolation, earthing and LOTO duties as per Authorisation level. You will be required to support to provide training and supervision to junior personnel and to be the Authorized Person on Duty (APD) when the Technical Manager is off site. Main responsibilities <ul> <li>Perform Electrical duties on the Plant: Work in the modification, technical troubleshoot, repair test and maintenance of all facility electrical equipment, systems, and network communication(s) </li> <li>Complete routine safety documentation before every job including tailgate meetings, electrical work permits, etc.</li> <li>Perform switching, isolation, safety test and earthing and LOTO duties as per Authorisation level of the organizational ORHVS and Plant Safety Regulations (PSR)</li> <li>Perform OEM specific Preventative and Corrective Maintenance tasks on BESS, trackers, and all other PV electrical equipment to adhere to warranty requirements and industry best practices</li> <li>Interpret schematics and blueprints</li> <li>Quality assurance checklists and inspections to document deficiencies and identify corrective actions needed</li> <li>Daily digital reporting and document on CMMS the maintenance activities of all facility electrical equipment, systems, and spare parts </li> <li>Control and perform monthly electrical equipment/instruments and tools inspections</li> <li>Monitor and support the activities of the BESS Maintenance Contractor</li> <li>Perform all maintenance activities on BESS in line with BESS contract training requirements </li> <li>Assist in developing standard operating procedures and processes</li> <li>Identify and provide feedback to issues and ongoing development of projects</li> <li>Perform functions of Authorised Person and Responsible Person as per Plant requirements </li> <li>HVAC Duties: Assist with installation and commissioning as per OEM specification</li> <li>Assist with work in the modification, technical troubleshooting, repair test, and maintenance of all HVAC equipment and systems </li> <li>Quality assurance checklists and inspections to document deficiencies and identify corrective actions needed</li> <li>Assist and support the monitoring of all the activities of the BESS Maintenance Contractor</li> <li>Assist in performing all maintenance activities on BESS in line with BESS contract training requirements</li> <li>Provide input and assist in developing standard operating procedures and processes for BESS </li> <li>Supervise, train and evaluate junior electrical staff in associated duties</li> <li>Support client training pre-COD and BESS training requirement post-COD</li> <li>Perform general and adhoc duties: Assist with reporting requirements and support any site audit as requested</li> <li>Perform various HSSE related inspections and documenting</li> <li>Report to Plant Management and perform Appointed Person on Duty (APD) functions when Technical Manager is not on site</li> <li>Perform general tasks as required on site </li></ul>Qualifications and competencies <ul> <li>N3 Qualification, Qualified Electrician and ORHVS qualification</li> <li>Registered 3 phase installation electrician (SANS 10142); not single-phase tester</li> <li>Computer literate – Excel &amp; Word</li> <li>6+ years Electrical experience – AC &amp; DC electrical systems</li> <li>Solar PV Plant &amp; BESS experience advantageous</li> <li>Proven experience on MV &amp; HV equipment troubleshooting, repairs and maintenance </li> <li>Ability to take ownership of electrical systems on the plant</li> <li>High Voltage Switching and Solar PV Plant experience</li> <li>Supervision and training - Supervise, train junior personnel in associated duties and evaluate electrical staff</li> <li>Maintain Transformers and Switchgear and Assist with reporting and perform various HSE related inspections</li> <li>Experience with HV Switching, Solar PV Plant &amp;
