This role includes tasks across sealing, peeling, mixing/cooking, packaging, and general production support. Responsibilities include operating and monitoring equipment, handling materials, ensuring food safety and quality, maintaining accurate documentation, and keeping work areas clean and safe.<div style="text-align:center;"><hr></div>Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Operate, monitor, start up, and shut down production equipment (mixers, ovens, forming equipment, packaging machines, conveyors, etc.).</li></ul><ul><li>Perform production activities include:</li></ul><ul style="list-style-type:circle;"><li>Seal: Remove casing, slicing, move racks, set up Multivac, handle intermediate products.  </li><li>Peel/seal: Remove casings, move racks, wash totes, handle intermediate products.</li><li>Mix/Cook: Weigh ingredients, mix and form raw materials, bake/cook products.</li><li>Packaging: Handle, sleeve/bag, carton, pack, palletize, and X-ray products.</li></ul><ul><li>Attach appropriate labels, tags, and lot/batch numbers to products and packages.</li><li>Perform quality checks and complete all required processing and quality documentation.</li><li>Load/unload raw materials and finished goods.</li><li>Follow all safety rules, including PPE use, chemical handling, and lockout/tagout procedures.</li><li>Maintain compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).</li><li>Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment (sweeping, mopping, cleaning machinery, scraping waste, washing equipment).</li><li>Assist with general production and support tasks as directed by the Production Supervisor.</li></ul>Education &amp; Experience<ul><li>Required: High school diploma or equivalent.</li><li>Preferred: Prior sanitation, janitorial, or food processing experience.</li><li>Experience working with cleaning chemicals and equipment is a plus.</li></ul>Skills &amp; Competencies<ul><li>Thoroughness – Attention to detail in production and documentation.</li><li>Teamwork Orientation – Ability to work effectively with others.</li><li>Punctuality &amp; Reliability – Consistent attendance and timeliness.</li><li>Basic reading, oral, and written communication skills.</li><li>Ability to follow instructions and procedures.</li><li>Mechanical aptitude to operate and troubleshoot production equipment.</li><li>Commitment to food safety, quality, and workplace safety standards.</li></ul>Physical Demands<ul><li>Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, or crouch for extended periods.</li><li>Must safely lift/move up to 45 lbs. regularly.</li><li>Comfortable working in wet, noisy, or varied temperature environments.</li><li>Ability to use ladders, work in tight spaces, and move equipment as needed.</li></ul>Work AuthorizationMust be legally authorized to work in the United States.Equal Employment OpportunityThe Tofurky Company is an equal opportunity employer and prohibits discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected category. Benefits What We Offer:<ul><li>Employee-only medical and vision coverage that is 100% employer paid; employee-only dental coverage that is 80% employer paid</li><li>Auto-enrollment and eligibility for Tofurky’s 401K contribution + match.</li><li>Employer-paid Life Insurance, Short-Term, and Long-Term Disability Insurance.</li><li>Employer-paid Personal Time Off and Holiday time.</li></ul>
