Join us as a Buyer in Holland, MI or in Lake Orion, MI as we work together to bring innovative automation solutions to life.  Location Type: This is an onsite position in Holland, MI OR Lake Orion, MI.How You’ll Make an Impact:<ul><li>Mentor the buyers and associate buyers in the technical aspects in the processes of machining and fabrication.</li><li>Maintain and improve the Machining and Fabrication preferred suppliers list through the knowledge of the supply base and their technical capabilities.</li><li>Improve the Sourcing (make vs. buy) decision relying on technical knowledge of internal capabilities and the capabilities of the supply base.</li><li>Purchasing of direct material from project bills of material in a manner that is consistent with Supply Chain Management and JR corporate strategy.</li><li>Communicates with internal personnel regarding timing of material delivery, payment terms, and product discrepancies.</li><li>Assists with expediting material when necessary.</li><li>Enter purchase orders into purchasing system(s) as needed. Ensures proper documentation of supplier and purchasing related material, both papers, digital, and in Ops Manager and Baan and any other tools as required by JR.</li><li>Assists with correcting discrepant supplier invoices and packing slips when necessary.</li><li>Interacts with suppliers, team members, and internal customers in a manner that is distinguished by a high level of professionalism and ethics.</li><li>Works to help achieve departmental and business unit goals, with a strong emphasis on working capital management, supplier on time delivery and material cost savings and avoidance.</li><li>Assists in maintaining positive supplier relationships.</li><li>Negotiating pricing, payment terms, delivery, and other items as necessary with suppliers.</li><li>Mentor Associate Buyers to ensure they are following other JR processes and procedures.</li><li>Work closely with Commodity/Strategic Purchasing Team to ensure each business unit is achieving the best possible value available from the supply base.</li><li>Work with Supply Chain Management team members from other business units to ensure common process, procedures and best practices are shared and implemented as appropriate.</li></ul>Note: This list of responsibilities is inclusive; however, it is intended to be a guideline for activities.What You’ll Bring:<ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree, ideally in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or Business preferred.  </li><li>Related certifications such as a Procurement Professional preferred.5+ years of purchasing experience.   </li><li>Experience working in a manufacturing and/or projects environment is preferred.  </li><li>2- 3 Years of experience with Blanket Purchase Order with releases highly desirable with a strong knowledge of Epicore and EDI transmission of the procure-to-pay process, including data elements. </li><li>Ability to implement efficiencies in Epicore to reduce the number of PO transactions per project required. </li><li>Experience driving lean and continuous improvement process and strategy within an organization. </li><li>Knowledge and strong utilization of Microsoft applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. </li><li>Ability to communicate and build relationships both internally, across all functional organization and externally with supplies and customers. </li><li>Must be willing to travel to suppliers and/or other JR locations up to 15%.  </li><li>Demonstrated values of collaboration, integrity, courage, and excellence is required.  </li></ul>Disclaimer: JR Automation requires candidates to successfully complete a 10-panel drug screen, physical examination, and background check.Company Overview:  At JR Automation, A Hitachi Group Company, we discover potential, reimagine limits, and advance industry.
