We develop solar energy and battery energy storage (BESS) projects where the energy market dynamics, grid interconnection rules, and land permitting requirements are often unknown or are in flux and this role is important to help us navigate these unknowns. This entry-level role is primarily comprised of proactive communication and coordinating successfully with a multidisciplinary team. The Associate’s contributions are important to ensure our projects meet quality standards, schedule requirements, and budgets. This role manages schedules, arranges assignments, and communicates progress to all team members all with an eye on determining project viability.</p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong>:</p><ul><li>Monitoring and analyzing project schedules, scopes of work, and budgets and providing recommendations on tasks to ensure project viability.</li><li>Scheduling regular meetings and recording decisions (e.g. assigned tasks and next steps).</li><li>Preparing and providing documentation to internal teams and key stakeholders.</li><li>Researching and obtaining critical project or market information regarding code, policy, permits, land records and relevant industry studies.</li><li>Monitoring and measuring project progress and addressing or reporting potential issues.</li><li>Coordinating quality controls to ensure deliverables meet requirements.</li><li>Acting as a key point of contact for all project information.</li><li>Participating in managing and approving expenses.</li><li>Collaborating with internal partners to document and improve standard operating procedures and processes.</li><li>Identifying attractive solar/BESS sites and conducting outreach to prospective landowners.</li><li>Conducting due diligence and site analysis.</li><li>Identifying constraints and participating in obstacle resolution and risk tracking.</li><li>Supporting preparation and analysis of interconnection documents and applications, including coordination with utilities.</li><li>Supporting coordination with internal engineering, including communicating design constraints and reviewing layouts for conformance with project and Company goals.</li><li>Conducting outreach to AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction), preparing permit applications, providing support during public hearings, meetings, and other community engagement or outreach.</li><li>Supporting the execution of required documents for financing of projects, communicating frequently with the finance and legal team.</li><li>Coordinating with external consultants and managing relationships to ensure external deliverables are completed correctly and on time.</li></ul><p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p><ul><li>1 year of experience working in a professional environment, including internships and part-time work.</li><li>Bachelor’s degree in related field (energy, real estate, sustainability, policy, communications) or equivalent experience.</li><li>High-degree of organization and time-management skills.</li><li>Experience in PC computer skills and familiarity with MS Office and Windows. Salesforce experience a plus.</li><li>Demonstrated interest in renewable energy, sustainable infrastructure, or related field.</li><li>Strong attention to detail with a high level of organizational capacity to manage multiple projects.</li><li>Experience in efficient, timely, and reliable support to internal and external stakeholders.</li><li>Self-motivated and self -starter, with proven ability to take ownership, initiative, and accountability.</li><li>High levels of integrity and personal accountability.</li><li>Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written.</li><li>Ability to manage competing priorities often across functional and operational lines.</li><li>Must have a “roll up your sleeves and let’s get the job done right” type attitude.</li><li>Demonstrated qualities of integrity, credibility, and professional responsibility.</li><li>A willingness to contribute to our culture which thrives on building trust and holding one another accountable.</li><li>Ability to travel and access sites of varying terrain.
