The electric delivery system in Connecticut contains approximately 130 miles of transmission lines and 28 bulk electric supply substations.Position reports to the Supervisor – Electric Network Standards and support team needs as dictated by the Supervisor.Key ResponsibilitiesProvides specialized technical services, consulting, advice and support related to electric distribution or transmission for business projects or operating distribution, substation or transmission assets to guarantee a reliable, efficient and safe management of assets and mechanical, electrical and control systems and components. Independently apply design standards, industry codes, design criteria, guidelines &amp; AVANGRID polices/procedures. Perform detailed, complex engineering analyses, designs and calculations using standard methodology and principles and other viable approaches. Develop alternate methods or design concepts to resolve problems or to improve processes/services. Serve as SME and create material specifications for transmission or distribution equipment (e.g. cable, transformers, switches, poles, and concrete products). Solves or leads on complex problems and actively participates in design of new solutions or improvement initiatives. Work independently with little supervision. Participates and represents AVANGRID’s on Industry associations.
