You will be working directly in agricultural environments — orchards, fields, and bee pastures — ensuring that our robotic hives and related equipment operate reliably.This role is ideal for someone with 3+ years of field technician or assembly experience, who enjoys working outdoors, solving technical problems, and supporting sustainable agriculture.<h3>What You’ll Do</h3><ul><li>Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on robotic hive systems and related agri-tech equipment. </li><li>Apply ECOs (engineering change orders) and implement system upgrades in the field. </li><li>Support installation and setup of systems in orchards and bee pastures. </li><li>Use a technician app and ticketing system to receive assignments and report completion of tasks. </li><li>Carry out field assembly work, including electrical and mechanical adjustments. </li><li>Collaborate with teammates and engineers, providing clear feedback and maintaining strong communication. </li><li>Ensure equipment is safe, clean, and presentable at all times. </li><li>Work primarily in the Merced area most of the year, with occasional travel for periods of 2 weeks to 1 month as needed. </li></ul><h3>What We’re Looking For</h3>Must-Haves<ul><li>At least 3 years of experience as a field technician, installer, or equivalent role. </li><li>Relevant background in electronics, mechanics, repair and field maintenance, or field assembly. </li><li>Comfortable working in computer-based environments (apps, ticketing systems, reporting tools). </li><li>Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently in outdoor conditions. </li><li>Good teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills — organized, professional, and customer-oriented. </li><li>Experience working with ticketing systems for task assignment and reporting back. </li><li>Living in the Merced area, with willingness to travel during certain seasons. </li></ul>Nice-to-Haves<ul><li>Background in robotics. </li><li>Experience with installation of technical systems. </li><li>Hands-on experience in mechanical/electronic equipment repair. </li><li>Previous experience with agricultural tools or equipment repair. </li><li>Familiarity with beekeeping environments or agri-tech systems. </li><li>Prior work in a fast-growing or well-organized field operations environment.</li></ul>
