We are united by a shared sense of urgency to provide clean power for the world, particularly managing climate change while meeting<h2>Job Overview:</h2>As Senior Electrical Engineer – Diagnostics, you will be responsible for overseeing the design and integration of electrical systems for multiple x-ray diagnostics on Pacific Fusion’s demonstration system<h2>Responsibilities:</h2><ul style=""><li>Design and develop diagnostic electronics for our x-ray diagnostic suite. This includes but is not limited to camera electronics, electrical-to-optical electronics, A/D readout electronics, PCBA design, and FPGA/ASIC design and data acquisition equipment</li><li>Integration of various detector technologies including phosphors, microchannel plates (MCPs), imaging sensors (understanding of fabrication techniques is a plus), photodiodes (understanding of fabrication techniques is a plus), photomultiplier tubes (PMTs) and photocathodes</li><li>Conduct simulations to model detector technologies via COMSOL, CST Studios, SPICE, and/or Silvaco</li><li>Perform system-level testing, data analysis, and debugging of electrical systems</li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams including optical, nuclear, mechanical, and software engineers as well as scientists and experimentalists</li><li>Document design specifications, test procedures, and technical reports</li><li>Manage electrical scope which includes risk analysis, risk management, data based decisions.</li><li>Stay current with advancements relevant technologies</li></ul><h2>Qualifications:</h2><ul style=""><li>Minimum of BS in Electrical Engineer</li><li>Minimum 5+ years of expertise working in high pedigree, low volume electrical subsystems</li><li>Strong understanding of analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit design.</li><li>Experience with detector technologies such as phosphors, MCPs, imaging sensors, photodiodes, PMTs and photocathodes</li><li>Experience with simulation software such as COMSOL, CST Studios, SPICE, and/or Silvaco (or equivalent)</li><li>Experience in multidisciplinary projects and ability to work cross functionally</li><li>Track record of designing reliable electrical subsystems and bringing them through the product development process into commissioned hardware.</li><li>Track record of identifying gaps and taking initiative.</li></ul>Preferred but not required:<ul style=""><li>Experience with high-speed electronics and data acquisition systems.</li><li>Programming skills in Python, MATLAB, or LabVIEW for test automation and data analysis.</li><li>Knowledge of radiation effects on electrical systems</li><li>Experience working closely with PhD scientists and R&amp;D technology organizations</li></ul><h2>Benefits:</h2><ul style=""><li>Industry-competitive salary</li><li>Equity plan</li><li>6% employer 401k matching</li><li>Generous paid time off (including sick leave, vacation, paid family leave)</li><li>Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance</li></ul>Actual base salary offered will be determined by: experience, skills, and work location.
