This includes maintaining, repairing, and manufacturing parts for industrial machines, tools, and mechanical systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.</li><li>Set up and operate lathes, milling machines, and other machine tools to manufacture parts.</li><li>Fit, assemble, and align mechanical components and assemblies.</li><li>Inspect and test completed components for accuracy and quality using measuring instruments (micrometers, vernier calipers, gauges, etc.).</li><li>Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment and machinery.</li><li>Detect faults and carry out repairs or modifications when required.</li><li>Maintain accurate job records, time sheets, and maintenance reports.</li><li>Work according to safety and quality standards in the workshop or production area.</li><li>Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and other artisans on projects and installations.</li><li>Ensure tools and machines are kept in good working condition.</li></ul>Qualifications and Experience:<ul><li>Trade Test Certificate: Fitter and Turner (Red Seal).</li><li>N3 Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (advantageous).</li><li>Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a workshop, manufacturing, or maintenance environment.</li><li>Experience with CNC machines is an added advantage.</li><li>Basic knowledge of welding and fabrication (advantageous).</li><li>Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.</li><li>Good mathematical skills for accurate measurements.</li><li>Good problem-solving and fault-finding skills.</li></ul>Skills and Competencies:<ul><li>Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.</li><li>Skilled in precision machining, fitting, and alignment.</li><li>Knowledge of workshop safety procedures.</li><li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team.</li><li>Manual dexterity and physical stamina.</li></ul>Work Environment:<ul><li>Workshop, factory floor, or industrial plant.</li><li>May involve overtime, shift work, or call-outs depending on operational needs.</li></ul>Join the global Xylem team to be a part of innovative technology solutions transforming water usage, conservation, and re-use.
