You’ll design and deliver reliable services in Go, leverage AI tooling to ship faster and smarter, and play a key role in scaling the foundation of our sustainability platform.Responsibilities: <ul><li>Design, build, and maintain backend services in Go that scale across Engage50 and Product50.</li><li>Develop and operate cloud infrastructure on AWS, ensuring performance, security, and reliability.</li><li>Use AI-assisted tools to debug, test, and ship code faster with higher quality.</li><li>Collaborate with frontend engineers to design clean APIs and data flows.</li><li>Work closely with product and design to bring new ideas from concept to production.</li><li>You’ll work tightly with product, design, and frontend teams — a small, mission-driven group who value curiosity, ownership, and learning.</li></ul>Requirements: <ul><li>3–6 years of professional experience in Go or another typed backend language</li><li>Solid understanding of distributed systems and API design</li><li>Experience with AWS, containers, and CI/CD</li><li>Prior startup experience and comfort with ambiguity</li><li>Enthusiasm for using AI tools in engineering workflows</li><li>Passion for building software that advances sustainability and net-zero goals</li><li>Exposure to frontend frameworks (React / TypeScript) is a plus</li><li>Interest in climate-tech or sustainability is a plus</li></ul>Salary range: The base pay range for this position is £70,000 – £90,000 annually + discretionary bonus; however, base pay offered may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.     What We Offer: <ul><li>Competitive salary</li><li>Flexible / hybrid working (London-based preferred, occasional remote)</li><li>Generous annual leave and public holidays</li><li>Budget for learning and conferences</li><li>Collaborative, high-ownership culture built around climate impact</li></ul>If you're passionate about sustainability and have a track record of success in carbon accounting (or a desire to pivot into climate tech!), we want to hear from you!
