Reporting directly to the EMEA CFO, this position is responsible for ensuring the company’s operations adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies, while fostering a culture of integrity and ethical conduct. The ideal candidate combines strategic legal acumen with operational execution and the ability to act as a trusted advisor to senior management. This role plays a key part in maintaining corporate governance standards, managing legal and compliance risks, and enabling sustainable business growth.  Key ResponsibilitiesLegal &amp; Corporate Governance<ul style="text-align:justify;"><li>Lead and manage Landis+Gyr’s EMEA Legal and Compliance function, providing strategic legal advice.</li><li>Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with customers, suppliers, and partners to ensure effective risk mitigation.</li><li>Advise management on corporate structure, shareholder matters, and legal entity management.</li><li>Serve as Company Secretary, maintaining statutory registers, corporate records, and governance documentation.</li><li>Prepare board and shareholder meeting materials, agendas, and minutes, ensuring full compliance with statutory and internal requirements.</li></ul>Compliance &amp; Ethics<ul style="text-align:justify;"><li>Develop, implement, and oversee the company’s global compliance framework and programs.</li><li>Ensure adherence to regulations in areas such as anti-bribery, antitrust, data protection, and conflicts of interest.</li><li>Lead compliance training and communication initiatives to strengthen organizational awareness and accountability.</li><li>Conduct internal compliance assessments and support investigations when required.</li><li>Promote a culture of ethical conduct and transparency across the organization.</li></ul>Data Protection &amp; Privacy<ul style="text-align:justify;"><li>Ensure compliance with data protection legislation (e.g. GDPR) and internal privacy policies.</li><li>Maintain the data protection management framework, including incident management, risk assessment, and training.</li></ul>Litigation &amp; External Counsel Management<ul style="text-align:justify;"><li>Oversee litigation, dispute resolution, and external counsel management, ensuring cost efficiency and strategic alignment.</li><li>Coordinate with external advisors on regulatory and legal matters as needed.</li></ul>Leadership &amp; Collaboration<ul style="text-align:justify;"><li>Lead and develop a small Legal and Compliance team, fostering collaboration, professionalism, and business focus.</li><li>Partner with senior management, HR, Finance, IT, and Operations to ensure alignment between legal, compliance, and business priorities.</li><li>Act as a trusted advisor and sparring partner to the CFO and Executive Management Team.</li></ul> Profile<ul><li style="text-align:justify;">Master’s degree in Law and bar admission in Switzerland or another European jurisdiction.</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Minimum 10 years of professional experience in legal and compliance roles within international industrial or technology-driven organizations.</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Strong expertise in corporate and commercial law, compliance, governance, and data protection.</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Proven ability to balance legal risk with commercial objectives and provide pragmatic business guidance.</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Experience leading small teams and managing external counsel efficiently.</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Excellent communication, influencing, and leadership skills with high personal integrity.</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Fluent in English; German language skills preferred.</li><li style="text-align:justify;">High ethical standards, strategic thinking, and hands-on problem-solving ability.</li></ul>  We value and encourage diversity in our team.
