You’ll work closely with our technical lead and design collaborators to evolve Watchtower’s dashboard, build new features, and ensure a smooth user experience for our NGO and public partners.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Implement and refine user-facing components for Watchtower using React, TypeScript, and modern front-end practices. </li><li>Collaborate with back-end developers and data analysts to visualise key metrics and trends. </li><li>Help maintain a clean, scalable codebase with strong attention to accessibility and performance. </li><li>Contribute ideas to improve usability, storytelling, and data presentation. </li></ul>What we’re looking for<ul><li>Proven experience developing front-end applications with React (or an equivalent modern framework). </li><li>Proficiency in TypeScript, API integration, and data visualisation libraries (e.g., D3, Chart.js, Recharts). </li><li>Understanding of responsive design and accessibility best practices. </li><li>Self-motivated, comfortable working asynchronously in a distributed team. </li><li>Strong interest in climate action, sustainability, or open data projects. </li></ul>Contract and Compensation<ul><li>Start date: January 2026 </li><li>Duration: 10 months (with possibility of extension) </li><li>Commitment: ~20 hours per week, with flexibility to increase up to 30 during key phases </li><li>Rate: €55–65/hour depending on experience </li><li>Location: In the Netherlands or Berlin, Germany (must be eligible to work in the EU/EEA) </li></ul>Why Join UsYou’ll help build one of the few global tools holding banks accountable to their climate pledges, used by leading NGOs and journalists. At <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="http://Bank.Green">Bank.Green</a>, our mission is to lower this vast carbon footprint via technology and consumer action. We empower bank customers with the tools and insights they need to influence their banks towards sustainable lending, or switch to greener alternatives. To date, our bank-checking tool has been used over 500,000 times by bank customers worldwide, while we have shifted a at least $50m towards bank who are financing a greener future. Through transparency, engagement, and innovation, we aim to redefine the role of banks in the fight against climate change.
