This role involves negotiating with suppliers, managing supplier performance, and implementing procurement strategies to meet business objectives. The Buyer will also support cost reduction initiatives and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure optimal supply chain performance.Essential Duties:<ul><li>Evaluate pricing, specifications, and deliveries, and place orders with suppliers, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.</li><li>Update and maintain purchase orders in the MRP system, ensuring changes in design and delivery requirements are captured.</li><li>Develop expertise in procurement of commodities and components that support aerospace and defense requirements.</li><li>Evaluate and monitor supplier performance based on quality, cost, and delivery metrics, and work with suppliers to improve performance.</li><li>Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Production, and Stockroom teams to ensure on-time material availability.  </li><li>Find, research, and evaluate potential new suppliers for procured parts and services.</li></ul>Required Qualifications:<ul><li>3-5 years of procurement/supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.</li><li>Strong understanding of supply and demand planning, including MRP (Material Requirements Planning) functions and ERP systems.</li><li>Excellent negotiation skills with outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.</li><li>Good knowledge of vendor sourcing practices (researching, evaluating and liaising with vendors)</li><li>Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.</li><li>Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint</li></ul><ul><li>Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/6 Sigma/Kaizen</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications:<ul><li>BS degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or relevant field</li><li>Working knowledge of ISO9001 and/or AS9100</li><li>Working knowledge of FAR/DFARS compliance.</li><li>Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g. CPSM, CSCP)</li></ul>  Salary Range: $49,300.00-$65,700.000Pay TransparencyThe anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate.
